Your role at Clorox:

The Team Leader, Corporate Category Advisory Services (Corporate CAS), leads the enterprise capability that transforms data, market understanding, and objective category insights into influential strategies for Clorox, Business Units, Sales teams, and key retail partners. This role sets the vision and best practices for Corporate CAS, ensuring the team delivers compelling category points of view, scalable advisory frameworks, and activation plans that strengthen retailer influence, unlock category growth, and support long-term business objectives. This individual builds talent, modernizes capabilities, and partners cross-functionally to shape category strategy, assortment, shelving, merchandising, and growth decisions across the enterprise.

In this role, you will:

Leadership and Talent Development:
  • Set the vision, priorities, and operating rhythm for Corporate CAS, ensuring the team delivers compelling category advisory work that influences retail decisions and drives category and BU growth.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Corporate Category Managers, aligning team coverage to the most critical BU, customer, and enterprise priorities.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline by developing capabilities, creating heat experiences, and preparing the team for future category advisory needs.
  • Drive team engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement through clear expectations, coaching, and differentiated development plans.
  • Modernize CAS capabilities within assortment optimization, shelving leadership, AI, and advanced analytics to build competitive advantage for Clorox with merchants.


Category Strategy and Advisory Leadership:
  • Serve as a trusted category thought partner to BU and Sales leadership, translating market, consumer, and retailer dynamics into clear strategic choices.
  • Establish and scale category advisory frameworks and best practices (e.g. category growth strategy, category vision, state of the category, AMPS/AAA principles, and retailer activation plans) into repeatable workstreams across the CAS team
  • Develop objective, insight-led category points of view that identify growth opportunities, risks, and activation priorities for Clorox and retail partners.
  • Integrate multiple data sources, including third-party tools such as Circana, Scintilla, Numerator, Kantar, StoreSight, and Mintel, into compelling narratives that influence merchant and internal business decisions.
  • Influence decisions across assortment, shelving, merchandising, innovation, distribution, and retailer activation by connecting category strategy to commercial execution.
  • Partner with BU, Sales, Shopper Insights, and cross-functional leaders to align category growth strategies with business objectives and customer priorities.


Insights, Innovation, and Thought Leadership:
  • Shape best-in-class category and marketplace research that uncover strategically significant insights and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain a strong external focus, highlighting emerging trends, tools, and advisory practices that strengthen Clorox capabilities and ways of working.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and educate business partners to maximize the impact of insights through superior activation and execution.
  • Champion innovative approaches to category storytelling, retailer influence, and insight activation that increase the strategic value of Clorox as a partner.

Key Skills, Abilities, and Experience Required:
  • 7+ years of experience in category management, category advisory, category insights, category development, business intelligence, or related commercial roles, preferably within consumer goods or retail.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, developing talent, and building organizational capability.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate insights into enterprise, BU, customer, and category strategies.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and business direction as a strategic partner.
  • Expertise with data, analytics, and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, Copilot, advanced prompt analysis, agent creation, and other emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, customer segmentation, shopper understanding, and category development

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

-Zone A: $157,600 - $316,700

-Zone B: $144,400 - $290,300

-Zone C: $131,300 - $263,900

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox's incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
