Full Job Description
Designs systems of programmable, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls for machines and equipment. Provides technical assistance to maintenance department to be able to reduce equipment downtime. Assists other departments to maintain their costs to the lowest by implementing systems that could improve product quality, efficiency, and downtime.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Discusses projects with Quality, Process Engineering, Production, Information Systems and Logistic personnel to improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Helps with new projects and equipment.
  • Further develops the company's SCADA system.
  • Develop electrical and controls systems to provide solutions based on engineering principles,
    company standards, customer requirements and project specifications.
  • Provide technical support to our Maintenance Technicians.
  • Prepare work instructions for new integrated process, equipment, and technology.
  • Designs and drafts electrical schematics for new projects; including, but not limited to Robots,Scanners, Cameras, PLCs, Frequency Drives, Motors, Sensors, etc.
  • Confers with Industrial Equipment Integration companies to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.
  • Reviews schematics and components with supplier representatives to answer questions before and during installations/commissioning.
  • Modifies program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems.
  • Addresses potential problems and carries out appropriate actions individually or proposes
    solutions to the project engineer depending on the severity of the problem.
  • Identify process data that needs to be stored into database tables automatically.
  • Travel as required to support projects.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical / Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent; or four to ten years
    Manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
    experience.
  • Proficient with computer tools.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in
    automated industrial designs including specification of vision, power, sensor, inspection, and
    communications systems.
  • Well versed in process analysis.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and initiative such as six sigma, and statistical process control.
  • Experience in project management and interaction with customers and suppliers.
  • Basic knowledge or training of 5's, Lockout & Tagout procedures, Basic Plant safety, Hazardous waste, ISO-14001, and Quality, materials, and environmental procedures and policies
  • Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
  • Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments.
  • Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects.
