Full Job Description
Summary

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for assisting the management team in relation to the steel service industry. They will be responsible for helping with process studies, optimization, monitoring key performance indicators, product management, supervising employees, corresponding with vendors, print reading, project management, and field service work.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement process improvements and technological upgrades.
  • Create and maintain required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
  • Communicate with customers and manage related projects. Develop relationships to increase sales and create quotes for customers.
  • Prepare material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs.
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and operational utilization.
  • Work and consult with clients, vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
  • Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs.

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Automation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a group.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of employees.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to a career in engineering, operations, research & development or commercial functions.
  • Limited business travel to customers and vendor workshops will be required.
  • AutoCAD, Solidworks, Creo, Inventor, or Autodesk experience
