OverviewM&J is seeking a Construction Project Scheduler to provide critical scheduling, planning, and project controls support for WMATA's ongoing and upcoming capital improvement, maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
Salary: Based on experience the salary range is $90k - $125k annually.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain detailed, resource-loaded schedules for construction, engineering, and maintenance projects in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential schedule impacts, and prepare Time Impact Analysis (TIA) to assess delays and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess project performance and provide accurate reporting of schedule, cost, and resource utilization.
- Analyze project delays and work with stakeholders to develop and submit delay claims and change orders as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual scheduling requirements, including timely submittal of baseline and updated schedules.
- Provide risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to avoid delays or overruns.
- Work with project managers and stakeholders to define project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical paths.
- Monitor schedule progress and perform variance analysis to identify delays, risks, and recovery strategies.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports summarizing schedule status, forecasts, and performance metrics
- Coordinate with cost estimators and financial analysts to align schedules with project budgets and forecasts.
- Regularly communicate schedule updates and changes to the project team and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide scheduling expertise to support decision-making.
- Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in construction scheduling, specifically with Primavera P6.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel (advanced), and data manipulation/cleansing techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting transportation, government, or public sector clients (WMATA experience is highly desirable).
- Knowledge of WMATA's systems, KPIs, and operational data frameworks.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP).
