In this role, you will execute comms strategies and campaigns across Ring's growing portfolio of products, services, and programs. You'll help translate Ring's innovation story, rooted in our mission to make neighborhoods safer, into compelling narratives that resonate with customers, communities, and media, including creators and influencers.
You'll manage proactive momentum campaigns that keep Ring top-of-mind beyond launch moments, building sustained media interest throughout the year - especially around product milestones, impact stories, and feature rollouts. You will help craft compelling thought leadership and storytelling that positions Ring as a leader in community safety, home security technology, and purpose-built consumer AI, translating complex topics and technology into narratives that resonate with media, customers, and community partners. Through media relations and proactive pitching, you'll build and maintain relationships with tech, consumer electronics, smart home, and public safety media contacts - from traditional outlets to digital-first creators and social platforms - securing coverage and content that drives business results.
As part of this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional (and geographically dispersed) partners, including product, engineering, marketing, public policy, community engagement, and senior leadership teams. You will support integrated communications strategies that align with business objectives, product roadmaps, and community programming goals, and help manage agency relationships and external comms resources as needed. This role requires a strong bias for action, passion, creativity, and a focus on driving results that map to our business and reputational objectives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience securing coverage across traditional and emerging media covering tech, business, and consumer news.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives from complex technical information and position them for maximum news value.
- Demonstrated ability to support long-term communications strategies aligned with business goals, with a focus on measurable outcomes and media impact.
- Self-starter with ability and desire to work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in consumer technology communications, particularly in smart home, AI, or hardware categories.
- Established relationships with technology reporters, creators, and influencers - or a demonstrated ability to build them.
- Track record of contributing to successful proactive comms campaigns, product launches, and/or thought leadership programs.
- Creativity in developing campaign ideas, storytelling approaches, and community-driven content programs - including creator collaborations and influencer activations.
- Experience working with engineering and product teams in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments; comfort thriving in ambiguity with shifting priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to engage, build consensus, and collaborate effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
