Civil Superintendent

Location:Reeves County, TX

Employment Type:Full-Time

Timing: Immediate

Position Overview

The Civil Superintendent is responsible for directing activities of site employees and managing contracts while providing on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects. In this role, you will also develop work plans for foundations, including excavation, backfill, and dewatering, and monitor their progress & engineering drawing compliance. This role will require you to relocate to the area of your assigned project. You may also be required to relocate to the area of any future projects that you may be assigned to.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Study specifications in order to plan procedures for construction on basis of start & completion times and to plan the staffing requirement for each phase of construction based on knowledge of available tools, equipment, and various building methods.
  • Coordinate scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
  • Work closely with Safety Coordinator to ensure that equipment operators on electrical crews have received proper training and are qualified for the equipment.
  • Daily planning and reporting of quantities.
  • Ensure that foundations and anchor bolts are installed in accordance with engineered drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other discipline superintendents for the installation of underground utilities.
  • Ensure that all concrete, soils, and excavation work are being performed to the specifications of the project.
  • Ensure that as-builts, excavations, and underground utility relocation & repair are documented.
  • Confirm that "Dig-Safe" or a similar agency has been notified before initiating excavation.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is turned over to the QA/QC department for incorporation into turnover books.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of construction experience in a Civil Superintendent position.
  • Must have knowledge of the construction field and best practices.
  • Previous experience working on power plant, industrial, or renewable energy construction sites is preferred.
  • Strong P.C. skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe.
  • Must have excellent written & oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to changing workflows and priorities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
