Team Summary
As a strategic business partner, the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) team provides proactive solutions to meet business and innovation goals, creating a competitive advantage for GAF and its customers. GAF's Indirect spend is segmented into Corporate & Manufacturing and Capital Expenditures (Capital). The Capital Project Procurement team supports GAF's capital project plans by developing and implementing category strategies for engineering, equipment, and construction, while leading project teams to execute strategies aligned with procurement and business objectives.

Job Summary
The Capital Procurement Manager (CPM) reports to the Procurement Director, Capital, and leads procurement efforts throughout the life cycle of assigned projects. The CPM ensures that goods and services are delivered at optimal risk and price by leveraging broad knowledge of GAF procurement strategies, policies, and processes. As the primary point of contact for Project Engineering, Manufacturing, and Business stakeholders, the CPM fosters partnerships to drive action and facilitate the delivery of projects that are on time, within budget, and aligned with business expectations.

Essential Duties
  • Leverage the use of Category Strategies and procurement best practices to develop and implement "fit for purpose" project procurement plans and strategies. [15-20%]
  • Lead project specific construction Request for Information / Proposal sourcing events. Conduct technical and commercial conditioning activities, and make recommendations to the project team. [15-20%]
  • Structure and negotiate construction contracts aligned with the project's delivery model (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Construction Management at Risk, or Engineering, Procurement, and Construction). Secure vital risk-mitigation terms, including liquidated damages for delays, indemnity clauses, change-order fee caps, retention terms, liability limits, and performance/payment bonds. [15-20%]
  • Oversee vendor manufacturing timelines, freight logistics, laydown space planning, and site delivery schedules to prevent project delays. [15-20%]
  • Act as a procurement liaison for Engineering, EPC/EPCm firms to ensure GAF technology (IP), commercial terms, and best practices are adhered to during procurement. [10-15%]
  • With a Continuous Improvement mindset, collaborate with business and project teams to provide procurement insights to drive future improvement. [10-15%]
  • Resolve supplier disputes and advise stakeholders on strategies to minimize operational and financial risks. [5-10%]

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Supply Chain, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
    required
  • 5+ years of overall procurement experience
  • 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial experience managing capital procurement and / or construction contracts
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on experience in the use of ERP systems (Coupa, Maximo, SAP, or equivalent) and other analytical tools

Qualifications Preferred
  • Project and Business management experience
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts and apply them to source selections and project opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance short-term needs against long-term strategic objectives.

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Salary Range: $96,000-$132,000
