Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for purchasing activities in the creation and manufacturing of diverse medical device products. Responsible for the creation and tracking of purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items. Manages vendors to meet delivery dates and support Forj Medical Project teams and manufacturing floor to deliver products to our customers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage all purchasing activities including placing, tracking, entering and maintaining purchase orders
  • Following up with suppliers on delivery dates and order confirmations
  • Resolving supply chain issues as they arise
  • Participate in quoting activities as needed to support project pricing requests
  • Effectively communicate material requirements to suppliers
  • Promote positive suppliers' relations internally and externally
  • Execute cost analysis activities as requested
  • Assist with other documentation support tasks as requested
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with design and quality controls
  • Process purchase requests from engineering to ensure materials are procured to the needs of the project
  • Ownership of raw material cost targets on assigned programs
  • Ownership of inventory management on assigned programs
  • Issues requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ/RFP) and select best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems
  • Assist internal customers in understanding purchasing operations and purchasing processes
  • Collaborate with Commodity Management on strategic sourcing activities
  • Leverage knowledge of ERP systems to improve team utilization and efficiency
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing professional publications
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • BA or BS in Materials Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or APICS certification desirable.
  • 4+ years of related procurement experience including purchasing, inventory control, contract negotiation, supply management, supplier relationships, and basics of Cost Accounting
  • Knowledge of MRP Process
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously taking initiative and operating with general supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Interpersonal skills to interface with the Supply Chain, Customer Service, Operations and Engineering teams
  • Contract Manufacturing and electronics manufacturing work experience desirable
  • Advanced computer skills, proficient with MS Office suite and other work-related software
  • Ability to maintain positive company culture, image, and brand
  • Ability to respond consistently with a high degree of initiative to resolve issues or complex problems that may arise

Compensation
  • The expected starting salary for this position is $85,000 to $105,000 depending on qualifications. As part of your overall rewards, we offer a comprehensive benefits program.
