Job Description: Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst - Retail Analytics

About the Role
Skechers is looking for an experienced, all-round Business Intelligence professional to join their onsite team in Los Angeles. This role sits at the intersection of retail business operations and modern BI/analytics toolsets, helping translate business needs into decision-intelligence solutions powered by analytics, AI, and data science.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders across retail functions (merchandising, supply chain, store operations, finance) to understand processes, pain points, and decision-making needs.
  • Translate business requirements into BI solutions - dashboards, reports, data models - that drive actionable insights.
  • Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Work with data engineering/data science teams to incorporate AI/ML-driven insights into BI deliverables (e.g., demand forecasting, customer segmentation, inventory optimization).
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities relevant to retail performance (sales, inventory, customer behavior, etc.)
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across BI reporting layers.
  • Act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams, ensuring BI outputs align with business context and strategic goals.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to BI processes, tools, and reporting frameworks.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a BI Analyst/Developer/Consultant, ideally within retail or consumer goods industries.
  • Strong understanding of retail business processes (sales, merchandising, inventory, supply chain, customer analytics).
  • Hands-on expertise with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts and how they integrate into BI/decision-intelligence workflows.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - able to bridge business and technical conversations.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
