Overview

TRC is seeking a Natural Resources Associate Project Manager/Biologist to join our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice. The successful candidate will report to TRC's TX offices in Austin, Houston or Arlington. The Natural Resources Associate Project Manager/Biologist will have an emphasis in environmental planning and permitting for a variety of projects and clients in the areas of renewable energy, electric generation and transmission, energy transition, and oil and gas.

The successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of projects including oil and gas pipelines, other products pipelines, municipal, transportation, electrical transmission, and renewable energy generation and storage projects.

Responsibilities

  • Project management responsibilities for small to medium sized projects.
  • Support biological field surveys including wetland/waterbody delineations, habitat assessments, wildlife and plant species-specific surveys, and breeding bird and raptor surveys.
  • Prepare reports from field surveys.
  • Provide support in preparing permit applications for at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Prepare technical reports/correspondence including critical issues analysis and effects determinations for environmental assessments, as applicable.
  • Consult with federal and state agencies for project compliance.
  • Abide by Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field, and 5 to 10 years of post-degree experience.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable federal regulatory agencies, including, FERC, USACE, USFWS, and EPA.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable state regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical communication skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to direct field staff in medium to large field mobilizations.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules.
  • The candidate must have a strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • The ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials is also required.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check.

A preferred candidate will hold or has potential to attain one or more of the following qualifications:
  • Experience with NEPA document Preparation
  • Experience with FERC Resource Report Preparation
  • Certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS)
  • Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $80,080.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
