Full Job Description
As an Associate Product Manager, Customer Engagement & PI Planning, you will be responsible for supporting the development, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of customer engagement products that impact how customers interact with Canadian Tire throughout their fulfillment journey. These products include Delivery (including freight payment, reconciliation and reporting), Store Fulfillment, customer communication channels (email, SMS, notifications), contact centre capabilities, self-service experiences, and a variety of internally developed and third-party technology solutions.

In addition to product ownership responsibilities, you will serve as a key coordinator for Program Increment (PI) Planning activities across the eCommerce Fulfillment organization. You will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, Delivery Leads, Architects, and business stakeholders to ensure initiatives are properly planned, prioritized, estimated, and ready for quarterly planning cycles.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong product management fundamentals with exceptional organizational, communication, and program coordination skills.

What you'll do:

PI Planning Leadership & Coordination
  • Serve as a key coordinator of the quarterly PI Planning process for eCommerce Fulfillment teams.
  • Managing pre-PI Planning readiness activities across multiple product portfolios.
  • Monitoring enhancement progress through key planning milestones, including:
    • Requirements definition
    • T-shirt sizing
    • Solution design
    • Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
    • Story writing
    • Story refinement
    • Story prioritization
  • Facilitating weekly Pre-PI Planning meetings with Product Managers and Associate Product Managers.
  • Tracking planning readiness and ensuring initiatives meet required governance checkpoints before PI Planning.
  • Working closely with Scrum Masters, Delivery Leads, Architects, and Business Analysts to address blockers and planning risks.
  • Preparing quarterly planning materials and maintaining planning documentation.
  • Coordinating prioritization discussions with leadership teams to ensure alignment on quarterly investment decisions.
  • Creating and maintaining PI Objectives, capacity planning materials, dependency tracking, and risk registers.

PI Planning Execution
  • Support facilitation of quarterly PI Planning sessions.
  • Coordinate planning agendas, breakout sessions, and stakeholder participation.
  • Document and communicate planning outcomes, risks, dependencies, and action items.
  • Prepare draft and final planning presentations.
  • Track confidence votes, planning commitments, and quarterly objectives.
  • Distribute PI Planning summaries and meeting minutes to participating teams and stakeholders.

Stakeholder & Dependency Management
  • Build strong partnerships across Product, IT, Operations, Contact Centre, Digital, Architecture, and Delivery teams.
  • Coordinate stakeholder alignment sessions to validate requirements and proposed solutions.
  • Work with other Product Managers to track and manage cross-team dependencies throughout planning and delivery cycles.
  • Facilitate conversations to resolve competing priorities, sequencing conflicts, and resource constraints.
  • Ensure planning assumptions and commitments are clearly communicated across all teams.

Capacity Planning & Portfolio Governance
  • Help to monitor squad capacity, backlog health, and projected workload with IT
  • Support prioritization discussions across multiple competing initiatives.
  • Track delivery risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Identify planning gaps and escalate issues that may impact quarterly commitments.
  • Maintain planning dashboards and weekly executive reporting materials.
  • Support governance forums and leadership reviews by providing planning insights and progress updates.

Product Strategy & Roadmap Management
  • Support the development and execution of product strategies that align with business objectives, customer needs, and organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to annual and quarterly roadmap planning activities.
  • Research customer needs, operational opportunities, and industry trends to identify areas for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Partner with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate new ideas, features, and business opportunities.

Feature Delivery & Product Development
  • Own product enhancements from concept through launch and post-launch evaluation.
  • Gather and document business requirements and user needs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, business analysts, QA teams, and operations partners throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help prioritize backlogs and ensure initiatives deliver measurable customer and business value.
  • Participate in feature design reviews, story refinement sessions, sprint planning, demos, testing, and release activities.
  • Coordinate stakeholder reviews, approvals, and communications throughout delivery.

Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor product and feature performance using operational, customer experience, and business KPIs.
  • Analyze results and identify opportunities to improve performance and customer outcomes.
  • Conduct post-launch reviews and lessons learned exercises.
  • Drive continuous improvement of planning processes, product delivery practices, and team effectiveness.
  • Facilitate PI Planning retrospectives and implement improvements for future planning cycles.


What you bring:
  • 2-5+ years of experience in Product Management, Project Management, Program Management, Business Analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within Agile product development environments.
  • Strong understanding of backlog management, sprint planning, story refinement, and software delivery processes.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving business and technology teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with planning and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Excel, PowerPoint, and related reporting tools.
  • Experience with SAFe, Agile Release Trains, Program Increment Planning, capacity planning, or portfolio planning is considered a strong asset.

Broadband Salary Range: $64,000.00 - $106,000.00.

Our typical hiring range is between $64,000.00 and $88,000.00. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
