The Impact you will have in this role:

Directs the day-to-day activities required to develop and maintain DTCC's Anti-Money Laundering program for digital assets including: developing policies and procedures for monitoring digital assets and blockchain activity, overseeing the monitoring and case investigations of blockchain activity, working with Compliance senior management and the ED of Client Compliance to manage cross-functional projects and trend reporting/analysis, and ensuring DTCC's adherence to AML and BSA regulatory and compliance requirements as they relate to the digital assets business.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, communicate and ensure adherence to department risk policies, procedures and best practices;
  • Reassess existing processes and create new ones that most effectively anticipate, manage and reduce risk to DTCC and its participants;
  • Foster an environment of regulatory awareness and ensure regulatory compliance;
  • Demonstrate and embed the behaviors and competencies that create a risk management mindset in the organization;
  • Manage suspicious activity alert and case investigation activity for digital assets activity.
  • Coordinate major projects with the business aimed at addressing expansion of digital assets monitoring.
  • Coordinate the design and development of scenario rules and investigative standards and practices, the testing and implementation of monitoring systems and investigation support systems, transactional data/quantitative analysis, and investigations trend reporting and analysis for digital asset monitoring.
  • Liaise with the FCCC and Global Sanctions Teams in the enhancement and maintenance of policies, procedures and processes related to compliance with global sanctions, transaction monitoring, investigations and suspicious activity reporting as it relates to digital assets.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures for digital asset monitoring are kept current and in compliance with regulatory expectations.
  • Interface with senior-level internal and external professionals, industry regulators and law enforcement on Compliance related matters including regulatory examinations and reporting of suspicious activity incidents.
  • Coordinate the timely and accurate completion of critical reports to keep Compliance management, and compliance-related DTCC committees or working groups informed of the current status of the AML activities.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience


Talents Needed for Success:
  • 10 + years of financial services industry experience in Compliance, Legal, or Regulatory environment.
  • 8 + years of experience leading or managing Digital Assets and AML program.
  • Ability to work independently and with direction from senior and executive management
  • Excellent technical, analytical, problem solving, decision-making and investigative skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BSA/AML laws and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in blockchain monitoring and analytics
  • Relevant corporate and regulatory compliance experience
  • Detailed understanding of automated rules-based alert scenario development and optimization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across varying functions
  • Excellent communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Legal and Regulatory/AML Compliance Certification a plus


The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
