Standard Job DescriptionThe Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is looking for a Machine Learning Engineering Manager who will provide functional and technical leadership to a team of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning engineers. The ideal candidate will possess passion for conceptualizing, building, testing and maturing AI systems. The selected candidate will lead a range of projects including short-term sprints (rapid prototyping) and long-term engagements (integration, maturation of prototypes) and will be responsible for the technical execution of AI system development and integration activities for a number of simultaneous programs for the Cognitive Weapons & Effectors team. The chosen candidate will be engaged in system development activities throughout the entire project life cycle, including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration (often in classified spaces) and flight test while ensuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied on assigned programs. This candidate will apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques in the software field to develop tangible, differentiated and meaningful solutions aimed at significantly enhancing the sustainment of complex systems and enabling future hyper-battlespace capabilities. The chosen candidate will also advance the craft of software engineering, implementing new techniques and leverage AI to create state-of-the-art technologies. The selected candidate should expect to focus on specific technology areas that will enhance the effectiveness and reliability of kinetic and non-kinetic effectors.
From a functional perspective, the candidate will provide career development & guidance, perform merit and salary actions, develop training plans, and support recruiting, hiring and staffing activities.
In addition, the selected candidate will support the development of product line road maps, pursue new business opportunities, and assist in new business captures.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline
- Proven leadership experience in engineering assignments and successful proven results in leading and executing on software intensive programs
- General knowledge of Agile principles
- Proven experience leading virtual teams
- Strong and proven understanding of the engineering development process
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills
- TS Security Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills- Experience in modern Computer Vision, RF signal processing & Track Processing
- Experience in autonomy and developing autonomous systems.
- Experience using machine learning frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow, MxNet, Caffe, etc)
- Experience with Python and libraries for scientific computing (NumPy, OpenCV, Scikit, Pandas, etc.)
- Basic understanding of web application development (React, Angular, TypeScript, etc.)
- Background in high-performance computing (CUDA)
- Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Git [GitLab, GitHub], Continuous Integration [CI], Continuous Deployment [CD]
- Experience with network/messaging (UDP, ZeroMQ, RESTful API, etc.)
- Experience developing applications on Linux
- Experience with C++
- Experience interfacing with databases (SQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Experience deploying AI capabilities to SAPs
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
