INTRODUCTION:Our client is a leading clinical research organization committed to accelerating medical innovation through ethical, high-quality clinical development services. They specialize in preclinical testing of new drug entities for pharma, biotech, or medical device in advanced therapeutic areas such as immunology, toxicology, pharmacology, and related disorders, with a strong emphasis on
NAM Non Animal Models or aka New Approach Methodologies. They are driven by scientific integrity, innovation, and a commitment to humane and responsible research practices.
They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced M.Sc. (min) Scientist with a
strong background in NAM. The ideal candidate will design, execute, and analyze immunological assays using in vitro and ex vivo human systems, such as primary human cells, organoids, tissue cultures, and/or organ-on-a-chip, using computational models, to support drug discovery and development programs.
Reports to the Immunology Senior Director.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design and conduct immunological experiments using human primary cells, 3D tissue models, organoids, or other non-animal systems.
- Develop, optimize, and use multi-parametric flow cytometry.
- Work with diverse micro tissue and models to study a large range of infectious agents.
- Use organoid model high-throughput Flow Cytometry (CytoFlex).
- Implement Luminex multiplex cytokine arrays.
- Develop and validate immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, ELISpot, flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine profiling).
- Develop and validate in vitro models to study immune responses, inflammation, autoimmunity, or immuno-oncology.
- Interpret data and generate high-quality reports to support regulatory submissions and sponsor communications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally.
REQUIREMENTS: - M.Sc. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in immunology research, with a focus on non-animal models, new approach methodologies, preferably in a CRO, biotech, or pharma setting.
- Hands-on expertise with human cell culture systems and immunoassays and flow cytometry (min 2 years).
- Experience with alternative human-based models (e.g., organ-on-chip, spheroids, organoids) and familiarity with human immune cell isolation and culture.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, R, or Python or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
PREFERRED:• Experience with spectral flow cytometry and BD flow cytometer platforms.
• Organ-on-a-chip.
• immunoassay techniques (ELISA, ECL, Luminex) and cell-based assays (ELISpot, bioassays).
• Experience in Non clinical research in a CRO.
