  • Review and resolve custodial issues, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between related departments regarding workflow impacts.

First Foundation Advisors is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time Wealth Management Portfolio Operations Manager position at our Irvine, CA Location.

The salary range for this position is $105,500 to $150,000 depending on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.

Summary

This position is responsible for project management to successfully convert and implement a new suite of portfolio operations technology. Ongoing management of portfolio operations, including reconciliation, trade settlement, corporate actions, pricing, portfolio accounting, account performance measurement, quarterly client reporting, and engagement with vendors. This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Accounting (PA) lead on FFA Project Team for any conversion/implementation of new technology, software applications, or upgrades that impact PA
  • Collaborate with Project Team to identify business requirements, success criteria, available resources, and risks, and complete project deliverables as scheduled.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors who supply services related to Portfolio Accounting to identify and resolve any issues.
  • Responsible for the design of new, as well as maintenance of existing, Portfolio Accounting workflows.
  • Manage the Portfolio Accounting team, including oversight of reconciliation, corporate actions, pricing, account-level performance measurement, quarterly client reporting, and assistance with vendor management.
  • Daily review and resolution of custodial issues, including those with the FFB Trust Department.
  • Final review of daily reconciliation files for errors and omissions, and communication of the correction process with Portfolio Accounting team members
  • Co-ordinate with Trading, Account Services, and Billing with respect to workflows and data handled by these teams that are impacted by/impacts PA
  • Oversight of development and review of risk control reports
  • Direct PA team in the resolution of data integrity items, workflow inefficiencies, and enhanced reporting
  • Disseminate industry and job-related knowledge to team members via on-site and remote training
  • Responsible for completion of all required and assigned training modules by established due dates
  • Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.
  • Responsible for upholding Fair and Responsible Banking practices and Code of Ethics and Conduct guidelines.
  • Understand and participate in the Bank's Community Reinvestment Act program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; higher degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 to10 years of experience in investment management operations
  • General knowledge of investment management and finance. Familiarity with security types in which FFA invests
  • Well organized - ability to design and implement successful project plans
  • Ability to work independently and think creatively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, as well as technology applications used in an investment operations setting (i.e., Advent, Orion, Bloomberg, etc.)
  • Comfortable using database technology
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented team player
  • Must be bondable.

Working Conditions

The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Regular walking may be required, along with occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing. The role may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds.
