Dewberry is currently seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer in our Baton Rouge LA office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals.  This position offers tremendous potential for professional growth in a great working environment and the opportunity to apply the latest technology to help our clients solve their most challenging problems. Typical projects involve hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater mitigation, stormwater design, storm water master plans, mitigation planning, surface water assessment, and storm water quality in order to assist federal, state and local clients.

 

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • B.S. or MS Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field), with emphasis in water resources.
  • 5-10 years’ water resources-related experience
  • Candidate should be able to perform engineering analysis; develop preliminary and detailed designs of stormwater facilities; and write specifications and construction documents.
  • Progressive experience conducting business development and/or project delivery for stormwater and resilience projects in coastal and interior drainage communities, including Stormwater Pump Stations, flood control channels and tide gates is a plus.
  • Dam Safety and design experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge and Experience with USACE Civil Works projects is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Knowledge/experience with ESRI Arc GIS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, AutoCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic MS Office software.
  • P.E. certification a plus.
  • Team player.
