Minimum Requirements: Two-year technical or junior college degree or equivalent work experience (four years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 3-5 years of work experience in a warehouse/distribution center, preferably including supervisory work experience with a servant leadership approach. Working knowledge of and experience with Inventory Management Systems and related electronic devices common in warehouse/distribution environment required. Must be able to lift, bend, squat and stand. Ability to move up to 50 pounds required. Must be able to operate a fork-lift.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A for any employer

The Job

The Warehouse Operations Manager will manage the operations of assigned warehouse facility. Ensure all warehouse owned resources are maintained and the proper handling and safe storage of inventory, including marketing products critical to fundraising efforts across the country. Oversee repairs/configuration of inventory as needed, and guarantee that all inventory is distributed to locations on-time and on budget. Help carry out our Christian organization's mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Responsibilities will include
  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

Warehouse Operations:
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment for staff and volunteers by developing and maintaining warehouse procedures and safety standards and ensuring all required safety measures are in place, operational and adhered to.
  • Ensure all warehouse assets are properly maintained.
  • Oversee the safe and appropriate storage of a variety of types of inventory.
  • Research and stay informed of best practices and implement within the warehouse as needed.
  • Work with department leaders throughout the division to assess and determine cost saving approaches to meet warehousing/distribution needs.

Materials Distribution:
  • Oversee and schedule the work of warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate materials handling.
  • Fill time sensitive warehouse orders for both in-house and outside domestic and/or international shipping.
  • Receive and process incoming deliveries.
  • Respond in a timely manner to user/customer inquiries concerning inventory, order filling, and receiving.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliation and ensure adequate supply levels are maintained based on anticipated business needs.
  • Inspect and repair or oversee the repair of inventory. May include the set up and configuration of handheld electronic devices.
  • Maintain and operate standard warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and fork-lifts, to store and retrieve inventory.
  • May make routine deliveries and pick-ups.

Inventory Control:
  • Complete and maintain appropriate shipping/receiving and inventory documentation and databases. Prepare management reports as required.
  • Research and validate incoming invoices to ensure appropriate payment when necessary.
  • May monitor corporate supplies inventory and inform material owners when supplies need to be reordered to ensure adequate inventory control.
  • Work with vendors to order, contract, or maintain equipment and other warehouse supplies.
  • Analyze performance of existing shipping and receiving systems and vendor contracts, evaluating and recommending changes that would improve efficiency.
  • May work with volunteer groups and ministry partners to schedule use of volunteers and/or product distribution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as part of a team.
  • Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.
