Full Job Description
Compass is recruiting for a VP, Site Operations to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple data center campuses. This leader will drive operational excellence, strengthen onsite cross-functional coordination, support cultural alignment, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience. The Vice President will promote consistent performance, develop site leadership teams, and serve as a key liaison between Site Operations and partners across Delivery, Commissioning, Customer Operations Support, and Customer Success.

Responsibilities:
• Help define and execute an operational strategy aligned with company objectives.
• Lead continuous improvement and operational initiatives that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and the customer experience.
• Ensure all campuses follow established maintenance schedules, incident management procedures, and change management protocols.
• Oversee campus go-live readiness, including operational integration, staffing, and budget alignment.
• Maintain rigorous compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards across all campuses.
• Manage site operating budgets to maximize efficiency and promote responsible cost management.
• Monitor campus performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and internal partners, including Design, Delivery, and Supply Chain.
• Mentor and coach site leaders and managers to strengthen technical capabilities, cultural alignment, succession planning, and leadership readiness.
• Serve as a strategic liaison between customers and internal teams and as an escalation point for operational issues.

Skills and Experience:
• Strategic and tactical thinking with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day execution.
• Deep understanding of operational and safety policies, compliance standards, and customer lifecycle management.
• Ability to provide calm, level-headed leadership during high-stress facility incidents.
• Familiarity with applicable standards and requirements, including NEC and OSHA, and a strong understanding of complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus.

Requirements:
• Extensive progressive leadership experience in site operations, data center management, or another critical-facilities environment, such as hospitals or manufacturing facilities.
• Experience managing facility incidents that impact critical facilities.
• Proven ability to lead multi-site operations and large teams.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline. A master's degree is preferred.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered when paired with thorough technical knowledge of the complex electrical and mechanical systems that support modern data center campuses or other critical facilities.
• Ability to provide leadership outside standard business hours during high-priority situations, including facility incidents and time-sensitive customer RFP support.
