Full Job Description
Role Purpose:

As a key member of the private investment team, you will lead client coverage for an assigned region, evaluate and originate private credit investment opportunities, oversee underwriting and due diligence, and help drive transactions from initial sourcing through approval and closing.

What you will do:

The Vice President will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
  • Lead client coverage and business development efforts by cultivating strategic relationships with borrowers, sponsors, brokers, and capital markets participants to source new private credit investment opportunities and strengthen Brio's market presence
  • Lead the review of investment packages by synthesizing economic, demographic, and market data into clear, actionable investment narratives for senior leadership and investment committee presentations
  • Oversee and manage the underwriting, due diligence, and closing of commercial real estate debt investments, ensuring quality and accuracy of all investment material produced by the deal team
  • Review and adjust the modeling of financing opportunities and direct analyses on cash flow, valuation, and credit risk across a range of capital structures and collateral types
  • Own the development and communication of investment recommendations, including evaluation of return objectives, identification and mitigation of key underwriting and execution risks, and presentation of opportunities to BREDS and Brio investment leadership for approval
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with external parties regarding key aspects of the deal origination including the equity sponsor, operator, brokers, and lawyers
  • Lead transaction closings by coordinating internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate execution
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, including analysts and associates, providing guidance on financial analysis, deal process, and professional development
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed

What you should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience at a bank, private equity firm, investment manager, or comparable real estate credit platform, with meaningful exposure to real estate debt originations
  • Deep understanding of real estate capital markets and related trends, with the ability to synthesize market dynamics into clear investment views
  • Advanced knowledge of various financial and investment modeling techniques
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and explain financial model outputs, including communicating key findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders and investment committees
  • Proactive and detail-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and writing skills, the ability to prioritize across multiple transactions simultaneously, a high degree of integrity, and a collaborative approach to leading and developing junior professionals
  • Ability to engage credibly and communicate effectively with senior counterparties, partners, and internal investment leadership
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience leading real estate loan originations from sourcing and diligence through credit approval, documentation, and closing.
  • Established client, sponsor, and broker relationship network relevant to commercial real estate credit originations
  • Significant experience with property-level real estate financial modeling across multiple property types and complex capital structures
  • Knowledge of Argus Enterprise or comparable property-level underwriting tools
