Full Job Description
Position Purpose: Serves as the single accountable leader for the Business Lending Group and directs the strategy, growth, profitability, credit quality, operations, and talent development of the business. Builds an aligned, scalable organization that delivers sustainable profitable growth, strengthens leadership capacity and succession, and supports NFC and enterprise-wide objectives.

Essential Functions:

1

Strategic and Financial Leadership: Develops and executes the long-term strategy for BLG. Owns the business plan and P&L, including loan volume, revenue, earnings, margins, expense management, return on capital, and market growth. Establishes priorities, allocates resources, identifies new markets, products, partnerships, and channels, and ensures BLG objectives align with NFC and NCMIC strategies.

2

Profitable Growth and Market Development: Leads sustainable growth across current and future markets. Strengthens vendor, broker, borrower, and strategic partner relationships; improves retention and repeat business; and evaluates expansion opportunities using disciplined financial, strategic, operational, and risk criteria.

3

Credit, Risk and Portfolio Oversight: Partners with credit leadership to maintain strong portfolio quality and prudent risk practices. Monitors performance, delinquencies, losses, concentrations, pricing, and emerging risks. Ensures growth objectives are balanced with established policy, regulatory, compliance, and profitability expectations.

4

Organizational Leadership and Talent Development: Builds and leads a high-performing BLG leadership team. Establishes clear accountability, develops leaders, coaches emerging talent, strengthens engagement, and creates documented succession and development plans for critical roles. Builds bench strength and reduces dependence on individual contributors.

5

Operational Excellence and Scalability: Improves the scalability, efficiency, and consistency of BLG through process design, technology, data, analytics, AI, automation, and disciplined capacity planning. Establishes operating rhythms, dashboards, metrics, and follow-through that support growth without disproportionate increases in expense or staffing.

6

Cross-functional and Enterprise Leadership: Creates alignment across sales, credit, underwriting, operations, collections, customer service, portfolio management, accounting, compliance, legal, marketing, and technology. Resolves cross-functional issues, leads through influence, represents BLG with senior management, and makes decisions in the best interests of NFC and NCMIC.

7

Other Responsibilities: Performs other department and enterprise-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, management, or a related field. MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial lending, specialty finance, equipment finance, banking, healthcare finance, small business lending, or a related financial services business. Demonstrated experience leading managers and cross-functional teams, owning financial performance, driving profitable growth, and developing talent.

Skills: Strong strategic, financial, operational, credit, and organizational leadership skills. Ability to interpret financial statements, portfolio and market data, and risk metrics; communicate effectively with senior management; lead through influence; resolve conflict; build alignment; and translate strategy into measurable execution.

Mental Demands: Requires independent judgment, enterprise-level thinking, disciplined prioritization, and the ability to make decisions in a complex growth and risk environment. Must manage competing priorities, lead change, address difficult issues directly, and maintain strong business performance while building organizational capacity and future leaders.

Physical Demands: This position involves frequent sitting or standing for extended periods, often remaining in a stationary position at a workstation to review financial and business information. Constant close vision is required for computer monitors and detailed reports. Requires finger dexterity and repetitive motion for typing and use of office equipment.
