Quantum Sky is seeking a Virtualization and Windows Systems Engineer (Systems Engineer III) to join our team onsite at our Customer Program in Dulles, VA.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be assigned to a National Systems ISP/ASP program within our government services product line to help create, deploy, and support an element of the customer's Future Ground Architecture and Infrastructure Service Provider platform.
The role involves ensuring continuity of operations across six data center sites and one test site using High Availability technologies.
The candidate will support server processing and virtualization needs for multiple Active Directory domains, lead large-scale migrations from legacy to standardized environments, and support Operations and Maintenance, Post Deployment, and Integration of new technology.
Responsibilities include collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, creating technical work products, evaluating customer change requests, engaging with customer and third-party operations, and presenting status and plans at customer change board meetings.
This full-time position may require overtime to meet key deadlines.
Qualifications
Required:
B.S./B.A. in Aerospace Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Math with 5+ years of relevant work experience
Must have a current CompTIA Security+ CE or IAT Level II certification
5-7 years of experience in VMware and Windows support
Experience in ISP/ASP compute, network, and storage environments
Systems engineering experience on a large government cloud deployment contract
Demonstrated judgment in managing competing priorities to meet program objectives
Experience in identifying risks and establishing effective mitigation and contingency plans
Experience with Microsoft Windows 2019, VMware ESXi 6.x-8.x, and Veritas NetBackup 8.0-10.x
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, patching, and systems configuration at a Tier III support desk level
Experience with Dell and HP rack server technologies
Demonstrated experience with large-scale VMware configurations, including design, deployment, and maintenance
Knowledge of backup systems and server technologies related to archive and storage
Ability to interface with program and company leadership, customers, and end users
Willingness to work overtime to meet key deadlines and lead team efforts
Experience in Computer Network and Systems Administration domains
Ability to collaborate with partners to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions
Proficiency in integrating and solving complex infrastructure problems
Experience ensuring high reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management
Ability to respond to and use an online ticketing system for user service requests
Experience ensuring server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (NISPOM, RMF/DISA)
Ability to convert and upgrade older infrastructure to new technologies
Proficiency in developing, revising, and maintaining technical and operational documentation
Ability to maintain and grow technical competence in areas such as Windows, Linux, virtualization, User Authentication, DNS, NFS, and system imaging/build automation
Experience mentoring and sharing knowledge to improve team performance
Clearance:
Active and in-scope United States TS/SCI with CI polygraph security clearance

Compensation:
Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $170,000-$180,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
