About the role:

As a Vice President, US Government Relations, you will lead Westinghouse's domestic engagement. This includes working with the U.S. Government, specifically the Executive Offices, Agencies, and Congress and important third parties, such as associations, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and others to support our domestic growth strategy. You will use your knowledge and relationships with governmental and industry partners to achieve Westinghouse's overall advocacy agenda, promoting civil nuclear projects domestically. You will report to the Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and work remote. 100% Remote role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the trusted advisor to the Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs, and senior Westinghouse leaders, leading across political, policy, and regulatory priorities.
  • Develop and implement advocacy campaigns for important priorities requiring U.S. Government advocacy or approval.
  • Position Westinghouse in broader public policy community and ensure we are among the leading industry voices for important legislative and policy priorities.
  • Identify and secure new opportunities for Westinghouse for government funding or support.
  • Responsible for federal, state and local government relations.
  • Lead Westinghouse's participation in outside business councils and trade associations.
  • Represent Westinghouse interests in SES-level meetings.


Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in government or the private sector dealing with trade advocacy issues.
  • Experience with legislative bodies, executive agencies, trade associations, and policy organizations.
  • Experience working in an industry with large government contracting exposure.
  • Knowledge of key policy areas such as infrastructure, tax, trade, labor, safety, waste management.
  • Experience executing integrated campaigns to support corporate business priorities, including in appropriations, domestic policy, state and local relations in support of large-scale critical infrastructure and manufacturing initiatives.
  • Expertise preparing and staffing senior business executives to deliver organizational messages in public and private settings with high-level policymakers,
  • Expertise in dealing with high-profile stakeholders such as elected officials, executives, and a variety of external constituencies.


We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $230,000 to $287,500 per year. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
