Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Local Division Manager

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

The Vice President, Sales and Marketing will act as the primary architect and executor of Drive Products sales and marketing strategy to become the market leader in U.S. industrial markets and provide leadership in the creation and ongoing development of a customer and market focused culture. The Vice President, Sales and Marketing will also oversee the development and maintenance of the sales and marketing infrastructure required to support both current and future sales and marketing operations.

The Vice President, Sales and Marketing has overall responsibility for Motion Drive Products industrial sales and marketing activities. This includes developing the strategic blueprint, tactical plans, supporting infrastructure, and organization needed to achieve order, revenue, profitability, and market growth objectives.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid in New Berlin, Wisconsin, out of our US Headquarters for Motion Drives.

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Define and lead the sales and marketing strategy for Drive Products, aligning commercial priorities with business objectives to deliver profitable growth in existing and targeted new markets.
  • Translate strategic direction into executable plans across the organization, ensuring alignment and accountability across all direct and indirect reporting functions.
  • Direct market research and competitive intelligence efforts to identify customer needs, market opportunities, competitor actions, and distribution channel trends that inform business strategy.
  • Use market insights to strengthen ABB's market position and shape effective responses that enhance customer value and support long-term growth.
  • Ensure the successful execution of marketing strategies and commercial programs that build ABB brand awareness, support pricing and profitability objectives, and optimize promotional and multi-channel go-to-market efforts.
  • Enable the sales organization with the tools, programs, and cross-selling opportunities needed to drive commercial effectiveness and business results.
  • Build a high-performing sales and marketing organization by fostering strong cross-functional collaboration, aligning sales processes to customer and market needs, and developing the capabilities required for sustained success.
  • Ensure systems, infrastructure, and performance frameworks, including compensation and incentives, support business objectives and reinforce a culture of accountability, growth, and customer focus.
  • Ensure the sales and marketing organization is appropriately structured and staffed to meet strategic and operational objectives, including workforce planning, succession planning, talent acquisition, and performance management to drive timely corrective actions when needed.
  • Serve as a member of the Division leadership team, leading go-to-market models, strategic partnerships, and contract negotiations while managing operating and capital budgets to support Drive Products' growth and execution priorities.

  • 10+ years of experience leading senior direct sales management teams and manufacturer representative sales organizations.
  • Extensive experience in and strong knowledge of U.S. industrial markets, preferably within the low-voltage Variable Frequency Drives space.
  • Proven leadership, sales management, and change management capabilities, with a strong track record of delivering business results.
  • Demonstrated strength in sales modeling and commercial execution, including the ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships with key accounts and senior executive stakeholders.
  • Strong determination and a consistent track record of driving execution to achieve sales goals and business objectives.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
