Summary:

The Vice President, Financial Planning & Strategic Finance is a senior finance leader responsible for driving enterprise financial planning, forecasting, strategic analysis, capital planning, and transaction-related finance activities across Archwell Capital and its portfolio companies. This role serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership, translating complex financial and business information into actionable insights that support growth, investment, capital allocation, and operating decisions. The Vice President combines deep FP&A expertise with strong corporate finance and transaction capabilities, including cash flow and liquidity management, treasury, M&A, financing, and long-range planning. This individual is expected to operate with a high degree of ownership and intellectual curiosity, lead through ambiguity, and build scalable financial processes and capabilities as the organization grows.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes across the organization and its portfolio companies.

  • Develop and oversee integrated financial models covering the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, liquidity, and other key financial drivers.

  • Consolidate financial forecasts, operating results, and strategic outlooks across multiple businesses and provide an enterprise-level view of financial performance.

  • Analyze actual financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying underlying business drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.

  • Lead the development of monthly, quarterly, and other executive-level management reporting, presentations, and financial materials.

  • Partner closely with senior executives and business leaders to develop financial assumptions, assess business performance, evaluate strategic priorities, and support key operating decisions.

  • Establish and monitor financial and operational KPIs that provide insight into organizational and portfolio company performance.

  • Lead scenario, sensitivity, profitability, investment return, and other advanced financial analyses to support executive decision-making.

  • Oversee corporate cash flow, liquidity planning, and related treasury analyses to support appropriate capitalization and deployment of resources.

  • Evaluate capital structures, financing alternatives, debt capacity, liquidity requirements, and other corporate finance considerations.

  • Support debt and equity capital-raising activities, including financial modeling, analysis, diligence, materials preparation, and execution support.

  • Lead and support financial analysis related to acquisitions, investments, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.

  • Evaluate potential acquisition and investment opportunities through financial modeling, valuation, diligence, return analysis, and assessment of strategic and financial implications.

  • Develop transaction and company valuation analyses using relevant methodologies and provide recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders throughout financial due diligence and transaction execution processes.

  • Conduct company, market, industry, and competitive analyses to inform strategic planning, investment decisions, and corporate initiatives.

  • Partner with Accounting, portfolio company finance teams, and other functions to ensure accurate, timely, and decision-useful financial information.

  • Continuously improve forecasting methodologies, financial models, management reporting, processes, tools, and controls as the organization grows.

  • Proactively identify emerging financial trends, business risks, opportunities, and areas requiring additional analysis rather than relying solely on assigned requests.

  • Lead multiple high-priority financial and strategic initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality and effectiveness under demanding deadlines.

  • Build, develop, and provide leadership to finance team members, establishing high standards for analytical rigor, financial judgment, communication, and execution.

  • Serve as a senior finance resource and strategic extension of executive leadership on complex financial, operational, and strategic matters.

  • Support other strategic initiatives and ad hoc analyses as requested by senior management.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • This position has direct reports. Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline required.

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred, but not required.

  • 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory, or a related financial discipline.

  • Significant experience leading budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial modeling, and executive-level financial analysis.

  • Meaningful experience with M&A, valuation, capital structure, liquidity, treasury, and/or debt and equity financing strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working across the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, including corporate cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.

  • Prior experience leading, developing, and reviewing the work of finance professionals.

  • Experience advising senior executives and translating complex financial analyses into clear business recommendations and decisions.

  • Experience operating in a high-growth, acquisitive, private equity-backed, or otherwise fast-paced environment preferred.

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with demonstrated ability to independently structure complex analyses and evaluate multiple scenarios.

  • Strong executive communication, presentation, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a plus

  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
