An overview of your future role at BBA

As the Vice-President, Central Canada Operations, you'lloversee, manage and expand engineering operations across a fast-growingCanadian region, focusing on Ontario. You'll report directly to the ChiefOperating Officer (COO) and ensure the seamless integration of engineeringpractices, optimize operational efficiency and lead strategic initiatives tosupport the firm's growth and development objectives.

You'll be accountable for defining and executing thebusiness development strategy, strengthening market presence and ensuring highlevels of client satisfaction through successful project delivery.

This role callsfor a seasoned engineering leader with proven experience in operationsmanagement and market development as well as a strong track record in businessdevelopment, driven by a strategic approach.

An overview of your mandates andresponsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategic plan for regional engineering operations, in alignment with the firm's goals and in close collaboration with the COO and other senior leaders
  • Identify, pursue and manage new business opportunities, including the development of strategic external partnerships
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational and business risks and support sustainability
  • Build and maintain strong governance relationships with clients, external consultants, regulatory authorities and industry partners
  • Oversee engineering operations across multiple locations, specifically two offices in the Greater Toronto area and one office in Sudbury, ensuring high standards of performance, quality and safety to enhance the firm's competitive edge
  • Develop and implement key performance and productivity indicators (KPIs) to monitor regional performance and support informed decision-making
  • Manage and monitor budgets, resources (~120 employees), health and safety, project delivery and go-to market strategies, within performance targets, to achieve operational objectives
  • Manage operational efficiency, best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable federal, provincial and local regulations, codes and standards
  • Lead, mentor and develop high-performing directors and managers
  • Foster, promote and serve as an ambassador of BBA's culture, values and business model
  • Drive talent acquisition, retention and professional development initiatives to build a robust, engaged and skilled workforce
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences and public forums to enhance brand visibility and market reputation
  • Champion the adoption of advanced technologies and innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Summary of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration or a related field; a master's degree or MBA would be preferred
  • At least 15 years of experience in engineering operations, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven experience managing engineering projects and operations across multiple locations in both OPEX and CAPEX projects
  • Solid understanding of the Canadian heavy industry market
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to develop and implement effective operational strategies
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
