Job Description & Summary
A career in Deals Valuation, will provide you with the opportunity to help organisations unlock greater value from existing assets and ongoing capital expenditures as well as new acquisitions, investments, and complex corporate arrangements. We focus on a series of services, such as acquisition and disposal valuation advice including deal pricing and negotiation support, strategic value consulting for improvement of corporate and capital management decisions, financial modelling and value analysis. In short, upon being a member of our team, you will support clients to make profound strategic decisions, better conduct business transactions and decisions, appropriately allocate capital investment, and satisfy regulatory requirements with professional skills and in-depth industry knowledge.

Meaningful work you'll be part of

As a Valuations Senior Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead various complex financial instruments and private debt valuation engagement for a variety of purposes including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financial reporting, taxation, corporate decision support and corporate governance
  • Deliver in-depth understanding of derivatives pricing models, Monte Carlo simulation models and DCF models and solve business problems with analytical tools
  • Help management and boards arrive at informed decisions, by providing credible valuation analysis
  • Establish credibility with existing clients by demonstrating subject matter expertise and knowledge
  • Contribute to pursuit teams and proposal development including innovative approaches and methodologies tailored to address specific client requirements
  • Manage Valuations teams, coaching and supporting team development and sharing technical knowledge across the national and global PwC network
  • Assist and take part in various internal initiatives (such as digitization, industry specialization, etc.) and in business development
  • Provide support to team members in valuation technical skills, industry knowledge and soft skills
  • Build a network around your peer group internally at PwC and externally


Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

  • A strong academic background in a quantitative or finance discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Financial Engineering, or other relevant postgraduate degrees)
  • Successful completion of CFA, FRM, or PRM designation is an asset.
  • Extensive experiences in valuation of financial instruments including options, embedded derivatives, and private debt
  • An investigative mindset with attention to detail with an ability to see the big picture
  • A demonstrated ability to develop client relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Proven ability to manage project workflows and deliver on time, take ownership of tasks and assignments and accept responsibility for outcomes
  • Experienced at preparing and/or coordinating complex written and verbal materials
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard

The salary range for this position is $112,400 - $162,400. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
