• Establish governance, standards, and contribution practices for components, patterns, and design tokens.
• Partner with Digital Solution Capabilities to align design intent, design assets, coded components, documentation, and releases.
• Build, test, document, and maintain reusable UI components using modern front-end frameworks and technologies, including React, Storybook, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Translate approved UX and UI specifications into pixel-accurate, responsive, accessible, production-ready components.
• Review code for visual fidelity, accessibility, reusability, maintainability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in component development, troubleshooting, and sustainable issue resolution.
• Prioritize component-library work and coordinate delivery across teams.
• Support releases, adoption, migration, automation, and continuous improvement using quality and usage insights.
• Coach UX Engineers and developers through technical guidance, pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Communicate releases, breaking changes, migration requirements, and implementation guidance to consuming teams.
• Evaluate emerging front-end technologies and design-to-code practices for business value and technical fit.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive front-end engineering experience with advanced JavaScript and CSS, plus strong knowledge of TypeScript, TSX, JSX, HTML, and modern browser APIs.
• Demonstrated experience building reusable component libraries or design systems using React, Storybook, and other modern front-end frameworks and tools.
• Strong understanding of component architecture, APIs, composition, state, theming, design tokens, scalable CSS, package management, semantic versioning, and shared-library development.
• Ability to create pixel-accurate, responsive interfaces and diagnose UI issues across browsers, devices, screen sizes, and modern front-end frameworks.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, AODA, semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen-reader testing, and automated accessibility tools.
• Experience with Figma design-to-code workflows and automated component, accessibility, and visual-regression testing using Playwright, Storybook-based testing tools, axe, or comparable tools.
• Experience with code review, version control, CI/CD, debugging, and modern development toolchains.
• Working knowledge of DevExpress, Telerik Kendo UI, Tailwind CSS, Azure DevOps, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Ability to coach engineers, influence technical delivery without formal authority, and collaborate effectively across design and engineering disciplines.
Competencies
• Technical Expertise: Applies strong JavaScript, CSS, component-engineering, front-end architecture, and technical problem-solving skills.
• UI Craft: Builds pixel-accurate, responsive, accessible components that reflect approved designs and brand standards.
• Technical Leadership: Guides developers and UX Engineers through standards, code reviews, coaching, and practical problem-solving.
