Job Title: Digital Transformation Lead for Launches and Acquisitions

  • Location: Cambridge, MA

About the Job

As Digital Transformation Lead, US Launches / M&As, you will be a key member of the Digital North America team, working transversally across brands and digital teams, in close collaboration with the Digital Leads, US Launches/M&A. You will frame the digital needs of new product launches and M&A digital integrations that are not covered by existing digital product line standards  and, where the same gap appears on in-market brands, the emerging needs those brands surface and hand them over to the digital product lines for execution.

This is a framing role with technical depth. You own the end-to-end (E2E) framing complex, cross-product-line needs  qualifying the business need, evaluating scenarios, shaping the solution concept with the product lines and articulating the collective value. Framing does not stop at the concept: where a scenario needs to be tested before product lines commit, it includes the discovery artefact that de-risks it  a clickable demo, a data feasibility check, a technical spike disposable by design, as part of the brief; and it is complete only when the E2E need is decomposed into executable workstreams for each product line, with dependencies made explicit and capability needs sized, so that the Digital Leads and the product lines can execute without re-framing. From that brief, the Digital Leads take sequencing and tracking forward, and the product lines take delivery.

You also bring AI-assisted ways of working to framing and discovery needs qualified faster, scenarios tested earlier, briefs handed over sharper and share them with the Digital Leads and the product lines, shortening the path from business need to product-line commitment and increasing the value generated collectively.

The role takes the US commercial and digital strategy as an input from the North America Strategy & Governance and Commercial Strategy teams and translates it into a framing the product lines can execute. Its deliverable is a structured, end-to-end brief  need, scenarios, recommended concept, product-line workstreams and dependencies  that the product lines, Architecture and the Digital Commercial Accelerator take forward into solution design, architecture and delivery.

This role is intentionally designed to attract technical profiles moving into business-facing roles  tech leads, data leads, senior engineers  who bring the depth to engage product lines with authority and the vision to connect the dots across a complex digital ecosystem.

Join the digital engine driving Sanofi's transformation where AI, automation, and bold experimentation power faster science and smarter decisions.

*Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite - required. *

Main Responsibilities

Framing: Non-Standard Digital Needs for Launches & M&A:

  • Identify digital needs not addressed by existing product line standards across new launches and M&A integrations, and on in-market brands where the same gap appears (e.g. AI-enabled use cases)

  • Take the US commercial and digital strategy as an input from the Strategy & Governance and Commercial Strategy teams and translate it into the digital framing for launches and integrations

  • Frame the end-to-end digital need and evaluate multiple scenarios experience, data and technical approach options, assessed with the product lines and core functions (CX, engineering, data, architecture, product…)  before recommending an approach, qualifying value, feasibility and fit with existing standards

  • Where a scenario needs to be tested before product lines commit, produce the discovery artefact that de-risks it  a clickable demo, a data feasibility check, a technical spike  disposable by design, part of the brief, and validate it with users, business stakeholders and the relevant product line

  • Shape the solution concept with the product lines and hand over a clear, structured brief that the product lines, Architecture and the Accelerator take forward into solution design, architecture and build

  • Stress-test proposed solutions with product line leads to confirm they answer the framed business need

Framing to Execution Readiness: Cross-Product-Line Decomposition:

  • Decompose each E2E need into executable workstreams for the relevant product lines, as the closing part of the framing brief

  • Map cross-product-line dependencies and make them explicit in the brief, so that no value falls through the cracks between product lines

  • Surface sequencing constraints and interdependencies for the Digital Leads, who own sequencing and delivery

  • Frame the capability needs and investment rationale required to deliver the collective value, as input to Digital North America leadership

  • Maintain a clear, shared view of who plays where across the digital ecosystem product lines, core digital functions and Digital North America

E2E Value Articulation:

  • Build and communicate the end-to-end view of non-standard digital initiatives, making the collective value visible to all stakeholders

  • Translate complex, multi-product-line initiatives into clear narratives that simplify decision-making for product lines and business leadership

  • Ensure the value generated across product lines is understood, owned, and championed collectively

Technical Fluency, Discovery & Ways of Working:

  • Apply hands-on technical understanding to challenge assumptions, stress-test recommendations and engage product lines at the level of detail of their roadmaps

  • Stay current on emerging technologies  including AI/ML  to inform framing and identify where existing standards can be leveraged rather than rebuilt

  • Bring AI-assisted ways of working to framing and discovery need qualification, scenario testing, discovery artefacts, brief writing  and share them with the Digital Leads and the product lines to accelerate the path from need to delivery and raise the value generated collectively

Collaborative Orchestration with the Digital Leads, US Launches/M&A:

  • Work in close, day-to-day collaboration with the Digital Leads, US Launches/M&A, who act as Single Points of Accountability (SPA) for the delivery of digital launches and M&A digital integrations

  • Engage early on launches or integrations where non-standard digital needs are identified, contributing framing before product lines are engaged

  • Support the Digital Leads in framing integration needs versus existing product line standards and in decomposing them into product line workstreams

  • Ensure continuity between the framing layer (this role) and the orchestration layer (Digital Leads, US Launches/M&A)

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, Life Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree - preferred. Bachelor's degree - required.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in pharma/biotech with demonstrated strategic impact

  • Proven track record framing complex, cross-team digital initiatives in partnership with product, architecture and engineering teams not just managing their delivery

  • Strong technical foundation in software engineering, data or digital products, with the fluency to engage architects and product line leads at the level of detail of their roadmaps

  • Deep understanding of US pharmaceutical market dynamics and regulatory environment

  • Demonstrated ability to move fluidly between technical detail and the business-level view

  • Experience decomposing cross-team initiatives into executable workstreams with explicit dependencies, across multiple product or platform teams

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and product line leaders without direct authority  through the quality of framing and intellectual rigor

  • Exceptional communication and technical storytelling, including executive-level presentations

  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and commercial teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background as a technical lead, data lead or senior engineer moving into a business-facing role

  • Experience working with global product line organizations and core digital functions (architecture, accelerator / innovation teams)

  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications and emerging technologies and their practical use in commercial pharma

  • Hands-on with AI-assisted discovery  from clickable demos to data exploration and technical spikes  and with turning it into team ways of working

  • Background in specialty pharmaceutical launches (Immunology, Neurology, Oncology, Rare Diseases)

  • Experience framing digital needs in an M&A / post-merger integration context

  • Consulting experience in pharma/life sciences

  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and GxP requirements in digital health
