Modernize business-critical applications through Unix/Linux development, automation and containerization.
The Role
Capco is looking for a Unix/Linux Developer to support a major application modernization initiative focused on upgrading legacy applications, Unix scripts and their supporting technology.
This is a hands-on development role where you'll modernize and refactor legacy Unix scripts, build automation and help applications transition successfully into modern containerized environments. You'll work across Unix/Linux, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes and AWS, ensuring scripts and application components continue to function reliably as the underlying technology evolves.
You'll work closely with development and technology teams to solve modernization challenges, improve automation and support the successful migration of established applications to more modern, maintainable environments.
What You'll Do
Upgrade, refactor and modernize legacy Unix scripts and associated application components to support wider application modernization.
Develop and maintain automation using Bash, PowerShell, Python and Groovy, reducing repetitive operational tasks and improving delivery efficiency.
Support the containerization and deployment of applications using Docker and Docker Swarm across OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes environments.
Work with AWS and DevOps tooling to support application builds, deployments and migrations into modern environments.
Develop and troubleshoot solutions across Linux and Windows environments, working with application technologies including JBoss, Apache Tomcat, Nginx and HAProxy.
What We're Looking For
