Underground ElectricianAlamos Gold's Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada's largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos' foundation for growth for many years to come. Role OverviewAs an
Underground Electrician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment and systems throughout our mining operations. Reporting to the
Supervisor, E&I, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting underground electrical systems and equipment. Working closely with maintenance and operations teams, you will help drive operational reliability, safety, and efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical Maintenance: Repair and maintain mine equipment in compliance with workplace safety standards and regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Inspect equipment, identify faults and malfunctions, and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Electrical Systems: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot underground electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Substation & Pump Station Support: Install, set up, and maintain underground substations and pump stations.
- Technical Interpretation: Read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics, prints, and technical documentation.
- Team Support: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor, E&I to support operational objectives.
What You Bring to the Table- Provincial Electrician Journeyman Trade Certificate License preferred; consideration will be given to qualified 4th and 5th year apprentices.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment, systems, and installations.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and prints.
- Previous experience installing and maintaining electrical equipment in mining operations is considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for maintaining reliable electrical systems that support safe and efficient mining operations.

$45.60 - $58.57The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
