Overview / Summary:
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing construction activities from planning through completion. This role will work closely with contractors, suppliers, field personnel, and project stakeholders to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The Construction Coordinator will provide hands-on field oversight of construction and turnaround activities, including critical lifts, crane operations, welding, job walks, material takeoffs, Client planning, and schedule coordination. This position requires extensive travel to support projects and turnarounds across North America.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate construction projects, field activities, and project schedules from planning through completion.
• Manage and oversee contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
• Provide field oversight for critical lifts, crane activities, welding, and other construction activities.
• Conduct job walks and assist with planning, scoping, and execution of field construction work.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and other applicable project and construction documentation.
• Develop material takeoffs and support material planning for construction activities.
• Estimate field construction activities, including Client requirements.
• Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
• Manage project priorities using P6 schedules and provide daily schedule and progress updates.
• Monitor project budgets, expenses, Client, and overall construction performance.
• Ensure construction activities comply with applicable codes, regulations, project requirements, and safety standards.
• Provide regular project status updates to project leadership and upper-level management.
• Serve as a visible safety leader in the field and actively promote the Client safety culture.
• Travel extensively to support construction projects and turnarounds throughout North America.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Previous experience in construction coordination, construction management, or project management.
• Experience managing critical lifts, crane operations, and related field activities.
• Knowledge of welding processes and experience managing welding activities.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
• Experience conducting job walks and completing material takeoffs.
• Knowledge of field construction estimating, including Client requirements.
• Working knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and industry requirements.
• Experience with Primavera P6, including the ability to interpret schedules, manage priorities, and provide daily updates.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage field personnel and contractors and communicate with upper-level management.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize activities effectively.
• Strong safety focus with demonstrated field leadership.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.
• Must currently possess a valid TWIC card.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for travel to Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Local to the Pasadena/Houston, Texas area.
• Experience supporting industrial construction projects and turnarounds.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and construction disciplines in an active industrial environment.
