Position Overview

The Tooling Lead Senior is responsible for managing and overseeing the full lifecycle of all production tooling and related equipment. This role ensures tools are tracked, calibrated, properly maintained, and consistently available to support manufacturing operations. The position plays a key role in improving tooling systems, reducing downtime, and ensuring compliance with internal safety and quality standards while leading complex tooling projects and mentoring junior personnel.

Your Day-to-Day as a Tooling Lead Senior
• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of production tools, including calibration, repair, replacement, and inventory tracking.
• Maintain an organized tooling inventory, control systems, and documentation.
• Coordinate calibration schedules and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory quality requirements.
• Monitor tool performance, diagnose technical issues, and collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement corrective actions.
• Identify tooling needs and support procurement activities, including requisition creation and vendor engagement.
• Lead tooling standardization efforts, preventive maintenance initiatives, and other cost-saving strategies.
• Maintain a safe and organized tooling workspace in alignment with 5S principles.
• Train operators and employees on proper tooling usage, care, and return procedures.
• Lead complex tooling projects with minimal oversight and act as a subject-matter expert.
• Provide regular updates to management regarding tooling readiness, risks, and improvement plans.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $88000 and $129000 per year. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
