We are currently seeking a Tooling Engineer to support FTAI's aeroderivative engine development program. In this role, you will play a critical part in the introduction of new engine components by designing specialized tooling, supporting new-make parts, and providing manufacturing input early in the design process to ensure efficient and repeatable production.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with design, manufacturing, and shop floor teams on cutting-edge engine programs from concept through production.

Responsibilities:- Design and develop specialized tooling for the manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and maintenance of aeroderivative engine components.
- Collaborate closely with design engineers to ensure new part concepts are manufacturable and aligned with tooling and production capabilities.
- Support the introduction of new part designs, including the development of fixtures, jigs, gauges, lifting devices, and shop aids.
- Create detailed technical documentation such as CAD models, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Validate tooling through fit checks, capability studies, and verification of compliance with engineering requirements.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent discipline from an accredited university.
- Between five (5) and ten (10) years of relevant industry experience in tooling or manufacturing engineering, ideally within aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with complex GD&T and applying DFM/DFA/DFX principles.
- Familiarity with part and assembly quality inspection processes.
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) technologies.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or CATIA.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Excellent analytical abilities and strong teamwork skills.
