Full Job Description
We are looking for a Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) who is highly collaborative, has holistic thinking with patient access as an end goal and understands the patient journey to join us in our Epilepsy and Rare Syndromes team for the Mid-Central Region: which include, but not limited to the following states: Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin.

About the role

The Thought Leader Liaison develops and strengthens strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and internal stakeholders. They ensure optimal KOL engagement at medical meetings and commercial advisory boards and will continue to position UCB as an epilepsy market leader, delivering on the Patient Value Strategy throughout the entire Epilepsy portfolio in their region.

This is a portfolio -wide focus on driving impact within Epilepsy and Rare Syndromes inclusive to Dravet, Lennox-Gastaut communities, and patients suffering from partial onset and cluster seizures.

What you'll do
  • Ensure external stakeholders understand UCB's broader Epilepsy strategy across our focus on Science, Patient Service, and Solutions (Assets).
  • Help inform and align strategic perspectives and priorities across internal teams.
  • Increase connectivity and partnership between UCB and Epilepsy and Rare Syndromes HCPs
  • Maintain knowledge of current strategies and priorities across teams (not SMEs) to engage in high-level discussions with HCPs when required, with the intent of creating connection and follow-up to the appropriate key internal stakeholder for in-depth discussions.
  • Triage ideas, issues, questions, and proposals from healthcare professionals.
  • Engage on issues requiring a senior level perspective to understand and resolve.
  • Connect healthcare professionals to UCB internal stakeholders.
  • Cultivate relationships with KOLs. Develop regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) within the epilepsy community to execute on the overall strategic engagement plan.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to maximize UCB's HCP engagement opportunities.
  • Organizing overall plan and strategy at national conferences.
  • Manage project timelines & budgets.
  • Operates at the highest level of UCB Compliance and professional standards.
  • Interface and collaborate with a variety of external and internal partners in a highly professional manner, serving as the "face" of the company at key conference and events.
  • Effectively train and develop members of the speaker bureau when needed to ensure effective and compliant communication of key educational content.
  • Develops and maintains a keen understanding of the UCB U.S. Neurology, Epilepsy business strategic vision

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • 7+ years of experience in epilepsy, neurology and/or rare disease sales, marketing, medical, KOL development, or other closely related roles.
  • 4+ years of experience engaging in and developing relationships with KOLs, including a proven track record of building effective partnerships with physicians and Healthcare Professionals within the epilepsy space.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60%.


Preferred
  • Proven experience at being able to build processes and execute on strategic plans.
  • Experience working successfully with various internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to interface with key customers, accounts, physicians, practitioners, industry contacts, and consultants, to accomplish corporate objectives
  • Must have proficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Home office / corporate / management experience.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the epilepsy market in order to have a consultative relationship with KOLs.


This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $164,000.00 -$215,300.00 annually. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
