About the RoleAs a Thermal Analysis Engineer I at Sierra Space, you will initiate your career in thermal analysis within the aerospace industry. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to build foundational knowledge and skills, supporting the development and analysis of thermal systems under the guidance of senior engineers. You will work collaboratively within a team environment, applying basic aerospace principles and standards to contribute to routine technical problems.
In this role, you will assist in the analysis and development of thermal systems used in aerospace applications, leveraging your basic understanding of thermal analysis to support engineering projects. You will apply limited use and application of aerospace principles, standards, theories, first-order analysis, and concepts to contribute to technical initiatives. Under the supervision of senior engineers, you will help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity. Additionally, you will prepare and document technical data, reports, and presentations to support project initiatives and team decision-making. You will communicate technical concepts and information clearly, both verbally and in writing, to team members and senior engineers, ensuring alignment and collaboration. Following instructions from senior engineers, you will work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Furthermore, you will participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and brainstorming sessions, providing input and gaining valuable insights from more experienced engineers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
- Typically Entry-level with 0 - 2 years of experience.
- Basic understanding of thermal analysis.
- Limited use and application of aerospace principles, standards, theories, first-order analysis, and concepts.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from senior engineers.
- Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with basic engineering software tools and applications related to thermal analysis such as Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, ANSYS, or COMSOL for thermal analysis and simulation.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) with application for thermal analysis tasks and post-processing results.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and apply new concepts and methodologies.

Pay Range:
$82,646.00 - $113,638.25
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
