Full Job Description
The Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer 6 Test Systems is responsible for managing the quality test manufacturing systems, test loops and final product testing. Primarily supporting in Door, Case, Sealed System, and Electrical Assembly areas. A strong candidate will be capable of identifying, correcting, and preventing nonconforming testing events. Position Test Engineer - Manufacturing Quality Location USA, Louisville, KY How You'll Create Possibilities New Product Introduction 3 Develop and implement new and improved test methods to enhance capabilities, support growth, new model introduction, and improve outgoing quality via enhanced test firewalls. 3 Drive improvement projects through the CIB process. i.e. Able to write and analyze Test Codes for leak and flow rates, wattage, resistance, Hipot, Ground bond and other basic test parameters. 3 Drive project improvement pulsings including organizing project leaders around Test Systems improvement goals. Error Proofing 3 Implement Poke-Yoke work methods for testing and develop standard work and workstation aids to assist in operator training and operational consistency to improve quality yields. 3 Review daily assembly line test loops for equipment failure. Work with Process Improvement Engineers and maintenance to have the equipment repaired. Factory Support 3 Provide first response to Business Team leader regarding production related issues surrounding test equipment. 3 Drive to maintain a partnership with our shop operations personnel to promote a team that reacts aggressively to factory inefficiencies. Sustain 3 Other related duties as assigned. 3 Maintain quality test equipment, and gages as assigned. 3 Ownership for the calibration and preventative maintenance of test equipment as assigned. 3 Ownership for the having spare parts and trouble- shooting procedures in place for test equipment to minimize down time as assigned. What You'll Bring to Our Team Required: 3 Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, CIM 6 Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical associate degree) or related discipline OR equivalent 5 years of demonstrated success in manufacturing quality disciplines 3 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting and supporting manufacturing test equipment 3 Experience with manufacturing quality/NPI quality projects and process improvement 3 Experience interpreting data to solve problems, demonstrated skills in statistical analysis 3 Experience with manufacturing quality/ quality improvement projects and/or process improvement in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment 3 Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles 3 Ability to work in large cross-functional teams that span multiple organizational levels 3 Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills 6 will be expected to conduct strong coordination with adjacent shifts and provide report outs (written or verbal) to organizational leadership 3 Demonstrated ability to take ownership of cross-functional program deliverables and ability to drive decisions based on the overall benefit to the company 3 Experience in the function of basic electrical components 3 Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment, influencing others and driving change 3 Computer literate and skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications 3 BS Electrical Engineering degree 3 Electrical System Testing 3 Program C++ 3 Knowledge of test loops 3 Leak and Flow Testing/Analysis 3 Low Voltage Start 3 Motor/Compressor Overload 3 Safety: Ground Bond Continuity 3 Safety: High Voltage Withstand 3 Knowledge of Appliances manufacturing processes and/or similar high volume assembly processes 3 Experience & training in lean manufacturing practices 3 Six Sigma Black Belt certification 3 Thermodynamics Refrigeration cycle 3 Noise Vibration Harshness Testing/analysis 3 Product Reliability Testing 3 Strong project management and analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to scope and analyze cross-functional problems to generate/implement solutions Working Conditions 3 Hours & Weekends: Working off-shift and weekends may be required. 3 Travel will be limited but may be required for domestic and/or international travel to customer sites/ plants, etc. 3 High-volume manufacturing environment with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. is required. 3 This environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
