JOB OVERVIEWThe Test Cell Engineer plays a critical, hands-on role at the heart of our aircraft engine test operations. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys being close to the hardware, solving real-world technical problems, and shaping the future of test infrastructure. You will be a key contributor to the modernization, reliability, and expansion of our test cells, including participation in the design and construction of up to two new test cells.
At FTAI Aviation, this is not a maintenance-only role. You will actively influence technical decisions, lead upgrades, support capital projects, and work closely with test engineers, technicians, suppliers, and leadership to continuously improve our testing capabilities.
To support operational needs, we are looking for candidates interested in evening shift opportunities.
Responsibilities:- Provide engineering support for aircraft engine test cell operations.
- Develop, review, and approve engine test procedures.
- Analyze engine performance data and troubleshoot test anomalies.
- Support acceptance testing of overhauled gas turbine engines.
- Investigate engine performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with production, quality assurance, maintenance, and customer representatives.
- Ensure compliance with OEM, regulatory, and internal procedures.
- Support instrumentation calibration and test cell system maintenance.
- Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering or relevant technical experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting test cells (test aerospace environment strongly preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with instrumentation, controls, and power distribution
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks) for electrical and mechanical drawings
- Understanding of P&IDs, control logic, and ladder logic programming
- Proven ability to work independently
- Comfortable operating in a production operational environment with live test activities
- Fluent in English and French (spoken and written)
