Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time tenured position with a 9- or 11-month faculty appointment. Applicants will be considered for the title of Professor depending on qualifications. The position will include an administrative appointment as Associate Dean for Research. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2027.
The Associate Dean for Research is expected to demonstrate outstanding leadership and communication skills, a proven research background, and the ability to evaluate and enhance research programs in collaboration with faculty, department heads, students, and residents. This role ensures the physical and fiscal resources necessary to support nationally recognized research initiatives. The departmental home for the successful candidate will be determined based on the applicant's education and experience.
The faculty appointment includes responsibilities in research, service, and teaching at predoctoral and graduate levels, as well as supporting advanced education dental specialty programs, with a majority allocation for administrative duties. Administrative responsibilities include advising the Dean and College leadership on research priorities, investments, infrastructure needs, policies, performance metrics, and opportunities. The position also provides guidance at the department, College, and University levels, participating in executive-level decision-making to promote and advance the mission of the College in alignment with Texas A&M University. The Associate Dean for Research works closely with executive leadership and reports directly to the Dean.
Qualifications- The successful candidate must have a DDS/DMD/MD, PhD, or equivalent degree.
- Candidates must have a demonstrable record of federally funded protocol-driven research. Protocol-driven research in active status is preferred.
- Candidates must have evidence of executive leadership in academic institution(s) along with evidence of externally driven research fund support as well as active, protocol-driven research activity.
