Description of the positions
The School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is accepting applications for three (3) tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. These open-area positions are part of an exciting moment of growth and innovation within the Clinical Psychology program and align with the University of Ottawa’s broader revitalization mandate. We seek colleagues who will contribute to high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, provide clinical training and supervision, attract high-quality and diverse graduate students, and play an active role in shaping the next phase of our CPA-accredited Clinical Psychology program, along with developing strong and innovative research programs that complement and extend the School’s existing strengths.
We are especially interested in candidates whose clinical expertise, research, teaching, clinical and research supervision, and service will contribute to an exciting period of innovation and positive momentum in clinical psychology, including opportunities to advance curriculum development, clinical training innovation, accreditation leadership, anti-racist and anti-oppressive pedagogy and supervision, community engagement, and program evaluation. The successful candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with current faculty, students, staff, and community partners to strengthen the Clinical Psychology program and advance the School’s commitments to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and social accountability.
Although the positions are open in terms of research area, the School will prioritize candidates that complement existing strengths and emerging needs in the Clinical Psychology program, in the context of uOttawa’s Transformation 2030 plan, which includes a focus on Mental Health and Just Societies. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation according to the university's Policy 135 for FNMI membership/citizenship verification for all appointments, awards, and funding opportunities for faculty, staff, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows prior to interviewing. Other potential priorities include the expertise to contribute to teaching and clinical training related to child, adolescent, couples, and family psychology, community-clinical psychology, Indigenous interculturalism, program development and evaluation, teaching, and learning, evidence-based interventions, and health, mental health, and social disparities.
