Overview
The Role
As a Technology Strategy Senior Principal, you will lead technology strategy and transformation for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients, partnering with commercial, medical, regulatory, and IT leaders to modernize how they create content and engage healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients in a highly regulated environment.
You bring a deep understanding of the pharma landscape, the platforms the industry relies on (including Veeva, Salesforce Health Cloud / Life Sciences Cloud, and Aprimo), and the US and international regulations governing customer and consumer data. A core focus is the content supply chain: you know where it typically breaks down and how to fix it, combining proven process and platform solutions with emerging Gen AI capabilities.
Your Impact
Shape pharma technology strategy: Assess client ecosystems and define target-state architectures, platform strategies, and prioritized roadmaps across CRM, content, data, and omnichannel engagement, leveraging Veeva, Salesforce Health Cloud / Life Sciences Cloud, Aprimo, and related platforms.
Modernize the content supply chain: Address common pain points such as lengthy MLR review cycles, high content volumes with low reuse, fragmented tools, and inconsistent metadata, through modular content, streamlined workflows, and Gen AI use cases such as MLR pre-checks, claims tagging, and content generation and localization.
Embed compliance and data governance by design: Ensure that strategies for HCP and patient data, consent, personalization, and AI meet US regulatory requirements and are adaptable to international markets.
Lead client engagements and multidisciplinary teams: Facilitate executive workshops, align business and technology stakeholders, and guide teams across strategy, experience, data, architecture, and engineering.
Drive practice growth: Own senior client relationships, lead proposals and pursuits, and contribute to recruiting and thought leadership within the Technology Strategy & Advisory practice.
Skills & Experience
12+ years of experience in technology strategy, digital transformation, or management consulting, with significant experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences, ideally within a global consulting firm or pharma organization.
Strong understanding of the pharma and life sciences landscape, including commercial, brand, medical affairs, regulatory, and market access functions, and how HCP and patient engagement models are evolving.
Hands-on experience with platforms widely used in regulated industries, such as Veeva (Vault PromoMats, MedComms, CRM), Salesforce Health Cloud / Life Sciences Cloud, and Aprimo, including their integration and data considerations.
Proven experience transforming pharma content supply chains, including MLR processes, modular content, digital asset management, metadata and taxonomy, and omnichannel distribution.
Experience applying both traditional and Gen AI solutions to content and commercial challenges, with a practical view of AI governance, validation, and responsible use in a regulated context.
Deep knowledge of US healthcare data and promotional regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FDA promotional guidance, state privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA, and the PhRMA Code), and a working understanding of international requirements (e.g., GDPR, EFPIA and local market codes) as they apply to consumer, patient, and HCP data.
Ability to translate business requirements into technology recommendations and communicate architecture, integration, and data-flow considerations to business and IT stakeholders.
Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, influencing senior executives, and supporting proposals and practice growth in complex global organizations.
What Success Looks Like
A business-aligned technology and content strategy with a clear future-state operating model.
A connected, compliant platform ecosystem across Veeva, Salesforce, Aprimo, and related tools.
Faster, more efficient content operations, with Gen AI applied where it delivers measurable value.
Data and AI practices that meet US and international regulatory requirements.
Executive alignment on transformation priorities and an actionable implementation roadmap.
