Full Job Description
As a Technology Educator, you'll be responsible for improving the quality of engineers at Optiver. The Technology Education team shapes practices that influence technical hiring and talent development globally. This is a hands-on role for an experienced software engineer who is passionate about developing people. You'll collaborate with engineers, recruiters, and educators across the business to create engaging learning experiences for classroom delivery, improve technical assessments, and continuously evolve how we develop engineering talent at Optiver.

What you'll do

As a Technology Educator, your key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and delivering technical interview assessments to ensure a consistent, high-quality hiring process
  • Developing and leading technical training programs for interns, graduates, and experienced hires through workshops, coding labs, simulations, and coaching
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to integrate new software development and AI practices into training and assessment
  • Partnering with engineering and recruiting teams to connect hiring directly to on-the-job performance
  • Driving improvements to assessment and curricula through analysis of performance outcomes and participant feedback
  • Growing the Education function by identifying opportunities for the firm to improve the quality of its engineers

Who you are
  • Substantial hands-on software engineering experience with strong technical depth
  • Experience mentoring, teaching, coaching, or developing other engineers through training, curriculum design, technical assessments, or similar initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineers at different experience levels
  • Passion for developing technical talent and creating engaging, effective learning experiences
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to partner with engineering, recruitment, and education teams to improve technical development programs
  • Experience designing technical assessments or interview processes is a plus
  • Familiarity with agentic development, adult learning principles, or instructional design is a plus
  • Exposure to high-performance, low-latency, or trading systems is a plus
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening

Below is the expected base salary for this position. This is a good-faith estimate of the base pay scale for this position and offers will ultimately be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and performance in the interview process. This position will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus (if determined by Optiver) and Optiver's benefits package with the benefits listed above.

Base Salary Range

$200,000-$200,000 USD
