Description

The contractor shall provide specialized technical writing support to the Office of the Chief of Staff (OCoS).

Responsibilities

The contractor shall provide technical Writing Support to CISA Office of the Chief of Staff (OCoS). Work under this task includes, but is not limited to:

  • Responsibilities and deliverables related to executive task management and coordination.
  • Logging, assigning, tracking, and monitoring executive tasks, congressional inquiries, and internal programmatic action items using the agency’s official task management systems, to ensure thorough attention to each item.
  • Overseeing action milestones and proactively following up with action officers for timely, high-quality submissions.
  • Serving as the formal gatekeeper for incoming and outgoing packages, verifying that all required components, concurrences, and technical materials are complete prior to submission to senior leadership.
  • Evaluating incoming correspondence to determine the most appropriate internal routing, based on departmental expertise and leadership priorities.
  • Coordinating directly with program managers, component heads, and administrative staff to deconflict assignments and resolve writing or editing discrepancies before final sign-off.
  • Drafting and finalizing executive correspondence packages, including memos, formal letters, and background briefs.
  • Developing specialized response templates and desk guides outlining end-to-end task-tracking workflows.
  • Preparing weekly audit logs to document edited or drafted materials and verifying quality control checks for finalized and closed actions.
  • Exercise critical thinking when reviewing documentation and task updates to ensure every deliverable meets our high standards for accuracy and responsiveness
Qualifications
  • BA/BS (MA/MS preferred) in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, communications or public affairs, English, journalism, creative writing, technical writing, business and administration etc.)
  • Must have 5-6 years of technical writing and editing experience on policy directives, concepts of operations, policy guides and standard operating procedures.
  • Preferred previous experience/use of the CISA House Style Guide and CISA Writing Style Guide
  • Experience in writing communications for executive senior leadership.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook, Power BI
  • Data extraction and analysis.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
