About the Role
Verkada is looking for Technical Support Engineers to support our growing base of enterprise customers. As a member of our Technical Support Engineering team, located in San Mateo, supporting the entire line of Verkada cloud-managed building security products. Working independently and collaboratively, you will solve technical issues and advise customers on our platform.

This role will report to one of our Technical Support Engineering Managers and is based on-site 5 days per week in San Mateo, CA.

What You'll Do
  • Hands-on Troubleshooting: Dive into complex network, hardware, and software problems on Verkada's platform
  • Level Up Fast: Become the go-to expert customers trust for smart system design and integration advice
  • Communicate with Impact: Translate heavy technical concepts into clear, sharp advice on phone calls, live chat, and emails
  • Own It, End to End: Take full ownership of customer issues from "we have a problem" to "problem solved"
  • Team Up with Tech Leaders: Partner directly with Engineering and Product teams to test new gear and hunt down bugs before anyone else
  • Share Knowledge: Write Knowledge Base content that helps thousands of users


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related technical discipline: Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity from an accredited university
  • Coursework with a focus on computer networking, Linux, electronics, computer systems. Python or other coding languages is a plus
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters both orally and in writing
  • You're a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail
  • You thrive in a team environment
  • Industry certifications (like CCNP, CCNA, or Network+) are a bonus, but not required!

This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting base pay may be above or below this range. Base pay is also just one component of Verkada's total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
