- Translate approved product requirements into technical approaches, work breakdowns, estimates, sequencing, staffing plans, and delivery milestones for the technical team.
- Lead feasibility, architecture, and design reviews; document technical decisions, trade-offs, interfaces, risks, and ownership before development begins.
- Maintain a balanced delivery plan across new-product commitments, sustaining work, technical debt, security needs, and urgent operational issues.
New Product Engineering & DeliveryPrimary Skills: Software Delivery • Software Architecture • Quality Assurance • Product Testing
- Direct technical execution from design through build, integration, verification, release readiness, and transition to operational support.
- Ensure development work follows approved engineering procedures, coding and configuration standards, documentation expectations, cybersecurity controls, and quality gates.
- Review technical deliverables and evidence, remove delivery barriers, and escalate material scope, schedule, quality, or resource risks to accountable stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Product Management, QA, DevOps, Operations, and other engineering groups to confirm requirements are met and releases are supportable.
Sustaining Engineering & Product Lifecycle SupportPrimary Skills: Production Support • Technical Support • Defect Management • Continuous Process Improvement
- Own the sustaining work portfolio for existing Performance Products, including defects, reliability issues, obsolescence, compatibility changes, technical debt, and field-driven enhancements.
- Assign and oversee investigation of complex product issues, ensuring containment, root-cause evidence, corrective actions, validation, documentation, and closure are completed.
- Use product performance, support trends, recurring incidents, customer feedback, and operational data to prioritize lifecycle improvements and prevent recurrence.
- Establish knowledge-transfer, support-readiness, maintenance, and end-of-life practices that improve long-term product reliability and serviceability.
DevOps Work Management & Release ReadinessPrimary Skills: Ticketing Tools • Workflow Management • Software Deployment Process • Source Control Management
- Review DevOps tickets and engineering work queues for quality, priority, ownership, dependencies, risk, and alignment with approved product priorities.
- Maintain clear backlog-management and triage routines; resolve priority conflicts with Product Managers and communicate decisions to the technical team.
- Ensure work items contain testable acceptance criteria, technical context, appropriate documentation, and traceability through completion and release.
- Monitor development flow, blocked work, aging items, defect escape, release readiness, and agreed delivery measures; initiate corrective action when performance is off plan.
Technical Team Leadership & Capability DevelopmentPrimary Skills: Supervisory Skills • Employee Development • Leadership Development • Workforce Management
- Lead, coach, and develop technical developers and engineers through clear goals, role expectations, regular feedback, development planning, and performance accountability.
- Allocate team capacity based on business priority, technical complexity, operational risk, and individual capability while maintaining reasonable workload balance.
- Build technical depth and succession coverage through mentoring, peer review, cross-training, standards, learning plans, and deliberate assignment of growth opportunities.
- Create a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team culture that values engineering rigor, customer impact, timely escalation, and continuous learning.
