Technical Field Advisor II, CommissioningRole OverviewThe Technical Field Advisor II, Commissioning Engineer supports the commissioning of Mitsubishi gas and steam turbines under the direction of the site Commissioning Lead. Responsibilities include mechanical commissioning of pump and fan-driven subsystems, testing, pipe flushing, inspection, recommending setting/design changes, and supporting plant startup and testing. Candidates should have power generation experience, preferably in operations or commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Follow Mitsubishi Power and site safety requirements at all times.
- Execute daily assigned tasks to commission turbine and auxiliary systems under direction of the commissioning lead/senior engineer.
- Startup, operate, and troubleshoot large frame gas and steam turbines.
- Read and understand machine process diagrams and functional diagrams.
- Inspect turbines and other plant equipment.
- Provide operator training prior to commercial operation.
- Apply thermodynamic principles relevant to Combined Cycle Power Plants.
- Complete documentation, test certificates, and drawings for site turnover.
- Oversee installation and testing of assigned systems.
- Inspect systems and report findings to the commissioning lead.
- Report non-conformance issues and interface with engineering design teams.
- Complete required skills training log under supervision of the lead or senior engineer.
- Participate in Mitsubishi training programs.
- Communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity in all work activities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Travel up to 90% domestically and internationally.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and passport at all times.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 2-5 years of experience in power generation construction, commissioning, or industrial operation.
- Knowledge of power systems, energy conversion, or heat engine design.
- English proficiency; Spanish, Portuguese, or Japanese helpful.
- Strong analytical skills for engineering problem solving.
- Ability to analyze machine or computer-generated data and communicate effectively.
- Proficiency with office software and analytical tools.
- Ability to meet physical demands including climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in loud, confined, high, or extreme-weather environments.
