Technical Engineer📍 PowerPro360 | Full-Time | ExemptPowerPro360 is looking for a
Power Systems Engineer to join our team and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers managing critical electrical distribution systems.
This is more than a traditional engineering role. You'll combine
power systems engineering, customer consulting, technical training, and technology to help organizations improve electrical reliability, safety, compliance, and maintenance programs.
As a Power Systems Engineer, you'll work directly with customers, review and interpret power system studies, develop and deliver technical training, support AssetPro implementations, and turn complex engineering information into practical solutions that customers can actually use.
What You'll DoPower Systems Engineering- Serve as a technical subject matter expert for electrical distribution systems, reliability, and maintenance.
- Review, interpret, and provide technical oversight of short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, and electrical system studies.
- Help customers understand study results, prioritize recommendations, and implement corrective actions.
- Support the development and maintenance of electrical system documentation and single-line diagrams.
- Provide engineering recommendations based on applicable industry standards and best practices.
Training & Education- Develop and deliver technical training for customers, employees, and strategic partners.
- Create training programs covering electrical system fundamentals, single-line diagrams, power system studies, arc-flash, electrical safety, and maintenance reliability.
- Incorporate applicable NFPA, OSHA, IEEE, and NEC requirements into training and technical guidance.
- Deliver training in person, virtually, and at customer locations.
- Continuously improve training content and delivery.
AssetPro & Customer Support- Help customers implement and effectively use AssetPro and related PowerPro360 solutions.
- Assist with electrical asset organization, documentation management, system setup, and study interpretation.
- Help customers use electrical system data to improve reliability, maintenance planning, documentation, and compliance.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, practical recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Customer Success & Business Development- Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise and responsive service.
- Participate in customer meetings, site visits, technical presentations, and project discussions.
- Provide technical expertise during sales and business development activities.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer value through consulting, training, software, and related services.
- Represent PowerPro360 at industry events and conferences.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement- Stay current with developments in power systems engineering, electrical safety, asset management, and industry standards.
- Recommend improvements to technical processes, training programs, software tools, and customer solutions.
- Help develop new services and educational offerings.
- Contribute ideas that improve customer value and operational effectiveness.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems, system studies, electrical system operations, or electrical reliability programs preferred.
- Experience performing, reviewing, or overseeing:
- Short-circuit studies
- Protective device coordination studies
- Arc-flash hazard analyses
- Electrical system assessments
- Experience developing or delivering technical training is a plus.
- Experience with industrial, utility, commercial, or critical-power facilities preferred.
- Experience with electrical asset management systems or electrical maintenance programs preferred.
Technical KnowledgeYou should have a strong understanding of:
- Electrical power generation, distribution, utilization, and system operations
- Switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, and motor control centers
- Electrical system analysis and engineering principles
- NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, OSHA, IEEE, and NEC
- Preventive and condition-based maintenance
- Equipment reliability and electrical safety practices
- Power system study software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar platforms
