Global E-commerce business team hopes to provide users with more tailored and efficient consumption experience, enabling merchants to receive reliable platform services in different scenarios such as live e-commerce, short video content E-commerce, so as to make more affordable and high-quality products sell easily and a better life within reach. Global E-commerce Governance keeps our marketplace safe and trustworthy for buyers, sellers, creators, and brands. The Product Governance & IPR team builds the systems that ensure every listing on the platform is authentic, compliant, and accurately presented - and that intellectual property is respected across the marketplace. Our work spans two connected areas: product governance (detecting counterfeit, prohibited, and low-quality listings; enforcing product information quality; meeting regulatory requirements across global markets) and IP protection (proactive infringement detection, rights-holder tooling, and notice-and-takedown workflows aligned with legal frameworks such as the DMCA and EU DSA). Our systems screen hundreds of millions of listings using rule engines, ML models, and LLM-based review. Responsibilities: - Own solution design and system architecture for product governance and IPR services - listing risk screening, product quality enforcement, policy-driven review pipelines - and write high-quality code for critical paths. - Design and evolve IP protection systems end-to-end: rights-holder reporting and brand-protection platforms, notice-and-takedown workflows with SLA guarantees, and proactive infringement detection, in close partnership with legal and policy teams. - Provide technical leadership across the team: drive design reviews, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers. - Shape the team's technical roadmap with a focus on scalability, reliability, and measurable governance outcomes (e.g., violation catch rate, takedown SLA, review efficiency, seller and rights-holder experience). - Partner closely with product managers, policy/operations/legal teams, and algorithm engineers to turn governance and IP policies into effective, low-friction technical solutions. - Drive pragmatic adoption of LLM and agent-based capabilities in review and takedown workflows where they measurably improve accuracy, coverage, or efficiency.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field. - 5+ years of experience building highly scalable backend services and distributed systems. - Demonstrated technical leadership: leading complex projects end-to-end, driving architecture decisions, or mentoring engineers. - Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in E-commerce or marketplace platforms, especially listing/catalog systems. - Experience in IP protection, brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, or trust & safety domains; familiarity with notice-and-takedown processes (e.g., DMCA). - Experience designing and deploying LLM or agent based solutions with proven, measurable business or engineering impact. - Experience working with global, cross-timezone teams.

[For Pay Transparency]Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $232560 - $427500 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
