Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Tax Senior to join our team in any of the following office locations Jericho, NY; New York, NY; White Plains, NY; Park Ridge, NJ; Chelmsford, MA; Needham, MA; Palm Beach, FL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing firm.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Running client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring associates and interns on tax projects and assessing performance of staff for engagement reviews; performing in-charge role as needed
  • Reviewing tax returns done by staff and making recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities; gain increasing responsibility in review process
  • Preparing tax returns for more complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clients
  • Researching and consulting on various tax matters; utilizing tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters
  • Responding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
  • Recommending new tax strategies and determining profitability of potential acquisitions and mergers
  • Identifying areas of tax reductions and savings regularly
  • Traveling to clients occasionally

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree in accounting, taxation, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2+ years of progressive tax return preparation and compliance experience
  • Construction Tax experience required
  • CPA license or in process of obtaining CPA license
  • Proficient with a computer software packages and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Tax software, ProSystems Engagement and CCH Axcess
  • Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, initiative, and leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet or exceed time constraints and goals
  • Ability to work in a team environment, supervise staff and lead projects
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and consistently demonstrates respect for others

Compensation for this role is determined based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to your relevant experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Salary ranges are provided to offer transparency and may vary depending on final candidate qualifications and local market conditions. Please find compensation information below for candidates residing in the states below.

New York ranges are from $80,000 - $110,000.

Massachusetts ranges are from $80,000 - $110,000.

Washington DC ranges are from $80,000 - $110,000.

Colorado ranges are from $80,000 - $110,000.

New Jersey ranges are from $80,000 - $110,000.
