Full Job Description

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Blue Origin is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support the design, development, and verification of the Critical Facility Monitoring System (CFMS) user interface for the New Glenn launch complex. As part of a small, cross-functional team, you will integrate the CFMS with ground and facility systems.

This hands-on role involves system configuration, display development, and building software simulation/test utilities.  It will require creation of test plans and procedures and executing end-to-end integration verification testing with formal documentation. You'll work closely with operations personnel to develop meaningful alerts and reports that support day-to-day operations, maintenance, and historical data analysis — helping integrate, verify, and validate software components that support launch facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate, develop, configure, and test the CFMS user interface with launch complex, ground, and facility systems
  • Design user interfaces and develop displays for facility monitoring and operations
  • Configure assets and set up historical data collection, alerting, and reporting
  • Work directly with customers/users to gather feedback and implement new features and improvements
  • Participate in architecture discussions and process improvements, contributing to high-quality user interface software
  • Support customer training, documentation, and configuration management
  • Follow software quality processes including release management, traceability, and verification
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate development workflows, coding, and feature delivery
  • Support test integration, operations, and training at remote sites as needed (travel required)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in software/systems integration, industrial automation, or SCADA development
  • Exposure to design and integration of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
  • Experience or coursework related to designing user interfaces for industrial control systems
  • Exposure to SCADA/HMI platforms such as Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions (MEIDS) GENESIS Suite, Inductive Automation Ignition, Wonderware, or FactoryTalk (hands-on experience preferred; coursework/lab experience acceptable)
  • Experience programming in Python and C/C++
  • Working knowledge of, or coursework exposure to, industrial communication protocols: OPC DA/UA, Modbus, BACnet, MQTT
  • Basic familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on rapid development programs
  • Ability to travel to remote sites for integration, testing, and training support

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Basic SQL/database experience
  • Familiarity with ground command and control system concepts (telemetry processing, commanding, procedure execution)
  • Familiarity with Wireshark
  • Coursework or hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial control hardware (Rockwell, Siemens)
