Full Job Description
Systems Engineer

Position Summary:
As a Systems Engineer supports a US Navy surface ship program, you will provide troubleshooting and installation support to shipboard networks and equipment for Ship Control Systems.

Clearance Required:
  • Must be eligible to obtain/maintain DoD Secret security clearance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Navy technical activities such as troubleshooting, repair, testing of systems and equipment.
  • Assess status and operational checks of equipment and systems
  • Resolving technical issues through configuration, debugging, research, and investigation
  • Develop technical reports and documentation
  • Apply knowledge in engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards in order to conceive or apply new applications/developments to resolve client problems/conditions for advanced technologies
  • Identify program threats, watch items, risks, issues, opportunities, and constraints focusing on technical performance, in support of the design, construction, tests, evaluation, and certification to access Risk.
  • Communicate with stakeholders the process for uncovering, identifying, determining the scope, analyzing, mitigating, correcting, capturing, monitoring, and managing program uncertainties with appropriate rigor
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or similar (BS in Electrical highly desired)
  • Experience with JIRA or similar application
  • Experience in MS Windows operating systems
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Navy experience with ship control systems highly desired
  • Confluence experience highly desired
  • Experience performing as a systems, electrical, and/or electronics engineer
  • Knowledge of CMMI
Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Up to 30% travel
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
